I believe the answer is Hold Person (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0398.html), just be careful of the spellcaster saying that.

9th level spells can stop time but what else should the wizards do?

It's WWTD

Without direction from Rich, V wouldn't be in that situation in the first place. My point is, it's really hard to link a vague sentence like "should have died" to a deux ex machina event, specifically V's. I was thinking it more along the line of somebody coming back alive while everyone thought that they were dead, and when that didn't work out I went for someone dying for someone else's sake.

By your definition, Xykon (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0462.html) and Daigo (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0472.html) also fits the answer, only that I never thought of them, or V, that way when I came across them during my search. And I did come across all 3.

Wait, how do you post a link?
the button is at the top of the posting box, it looks like the earth with a little chain link below it. you may need to tell your browser to allow a pop up. it has a text shown when you point at it with your mouse reading: insert link. copy-past the URL into the box that pops up. if you have something highlighted, the link will be attached to the highlighted text.

azuyomi244's answer is OK, but not what I thought of. Fontaine's answer is not good though. I only see Belkar imitating Obi-Wan Kenobi, but he is not a character of OOTS. So you still have one to go. You must find someone taking over another OOTS character's speech pattern. There are at least two instances, you still have to find one. But it's also hint time: one of these instances are "quoted", and actually less than one sentence.

What strip you were referring to was not obvious. (The answer itself was correct).

To include a link: go to the strip that contains your answer, copy the URL from the address window, go back to your message, type the text of your answer, select the portion you want highlighted, click the link icon (it looks like a small globe with 2 chain links, in the middle of the message icon bar) and paste the URL in it. This quiz doesn't really work unless you treat the questions with a bit of common sense, in terms of which ones are obviously asking for a direct quote. Although it's true enough that anybody (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0762.html) is somebody.
