View Full Version : Stat up your Username

Just a silly idea that I recalled seeing in another forum, try to roughly stat up a character based in your user name.

Please post what system you are using.

D&D 3.5

Whisper Gnome Duskblade/Shadow craft gnome for shadow theme or
Longtooth shifter Rogue 7/Ninja spy 2/Swordsage 1 for the actual character that inspired the name

Marnath
2010-09-29, 07:48 PM
Marnath is a level 20 warforged fighter on DDO that I don't play anymore. He's sitting at something like 32 str, 12 dex, 28 con, 8 int, 8 wis and 6 cha. He has all kinds of greatsword feats, power attack, cleave and some others I don't remember.

The Blackbird
2010-09-29, 07:49 PM
The character who inspired Blackbird was a gestalt NG Wizard (Diviner)/Ex-Paladin 25.

It doesn't matter if your name doesn't come up from a character; but the point is to try to stat up a character basing it on the name, I expect some goofy results.

Oh well, in that case, HD 1/4 animal.:smalltongue:

Kesnit
2010-09-29, 07:54 PM
Since my username comes from my high school nickname, Kermit, I would have to say I am an Awakened Frog Bard.

Urpriest
2010-09-29, 07:56 PM
Human Monk 2/Duskblade 3/Ur-priest 2/Sacred Fist 10/Enlightened Fist 3
Human Warlock 4/Binder 1/Ur-priest 2/Eldritch Disciple 2/Hellfire Warlock 3/Eldritch Disciple +8
Bamboo Spiritfolk Savage Bard 5/Ur-priest 2/Mystic Theurge 3/Sublime Chord 1/Arcane Hierophant 9

Or, the weaker but more thematic,

Athar 10/Ur-priest 10

World Eater
2010-09-29, 07:57 PM
Tarrasque Wizard 20 / Cleric 20

Morph Bark
2010-09-29, 07:57 PM
An awakened tree druid with a dog animal companion?

Forged Fury
2010-09-29, 07:59 PM
Warforged Barbarian, Level Pun-Pun

Duh...

Maxios
2010-09-29, 08:02 PM
I got my user name from my DDO character Maxios. A human fighter/paladin multiclass. I think he also got a level of rouge. I deleted him in the end though.

Thurbane
2010-09-29, 08:05 PM
Thurbane was a 2E specialist Evoker that I played a long time ago...revamped him for 3.5 when I played Shattered gates of Slaughtergarde. If I was going to fully stat him now, I think I'd go Wizard/Warmage/Ultimate Magus...

Salbazier
2010-09-29, 08:07 PM
err, its originally a made up name for a sword (though I also have a character by that name) so, ... an intellegent +3 falchion of something maybe?

WarKitty
2010-09-29, 08:13 PM
Level 20 cat.

Eldan
2010-09-29, 08:13 PM
Well, Eldan was my second ever character, after my first Elf Wizard, the inventively named Istari Darkwood.
Eldan (no last name) was a chaotic good Halfling Rogue and Assasin, around level 10. Highly intelligent, went around with his much stronger and charismatic friend Surya, Human Rogue, and committed various dashing crimes. Well, we thought they were dashing, back then, but it was mostly murder and robbery.

I later revived him for a Planescape campaign, where he became an Arcane Trickster, who later was made a half-fey by a high-ranking Eladrin noble.

The Dark Fiddler
2010-09-29, 08:18 PM
Bard of some sort, possibly focused on illusion spells themed around darkness?

Lhurgyof
2010-09-29, 08:21 PM
Hmm, probably a monster class or some horrible monster, but let's look at alternatives:

Full orc Barabarian, Druid, or Cleric.

Minotaur Druid.

That's really it.

Eldariel
2010-09-29, 08:24 PM
Eldariel is Quenyan so it'd probably be...uhh, Star Elf Bard 8/AA 2/SC 2/AC 4/SE 4! Well, "El" does stand for star so Star Elf seems appropriate. And Bard-base seems to fit Elves better than most types of casting available in the game. And obviously Elves have some skill with the bow, and some martial prowess too.

The whole name would mean Elf Maiden which fits fine in a Bard chassis too.

Crossblade
2010-09-29, 08:25 PM
My user name is based on an MMO character of mine named Ryal Crossblade.
In the game, he was a duel wielding katar assassin, who always wore a blindfold. Try as I might, I have yet to figure out a proper build for him using DnD 3.5.
If I had to hazard a go, it'd be some wheres around

Rogue 2/Fighter 1/Ranger 2/Assassin 3/ Dervish 3/ Shadowdancer 2

Use lots of TWF skills, and Blind Fighting and Tremor Sense from Races of Stone, and it's pretty much him.
Maybe add 1-3 more levels of fighter for feats and up ranger to get a hawk pet, because he had a pet baby bird too, and it'd fit him better.

Private-Prinny

Schylerwalker
2010-09-29, 08:30 PM
Bard 5/Samurai 5/Jedi Knight 10

Being as the name is a play on my name and the fact that I (Apparently) used to look like Luke Skywalker as a younger kid. Old nickname. And I like bards. And I have a samurai avatar. And...yeah.

Ormur
2010-09-29, 08:31 PM
Literally: probably a fine vermin with the lowest fraction of a hit die possible.

Slightly more creatively: a CN low level rogue urchin specializing in pickpocketing, stealth and general delinquency.

Calmness
2010-09-29, 08:34 PM
Grimnir was a paladin I met in an online game called Nexus War, so just like my avatar. Or, to be a little more interesting I'd probably make him either a barbarian/champion of Gwynharwyf, or a fallen paladin/blackguard.

Ravens_cry
2010-09-29, 08:46 PM
Chaotic Neutral Petal Pathfinder Rogue/Sorcerer-Aberrant Bloodline/Arcane Trickster, with an item of Reduce Monster (her hood).

Coidzor
2010-09-29, 08:46 PM
Hmm, well, my current avatar is a master of masks (3.5) wearing an alternate interpretation of the Lord mask... Hadn't really thought that much about what the base would be.

I was thinking about Swordshape Mystic Rangers at the time I got it made though, haha.

So, probably a CN human Urban Swordshape Mystic Ranger/Rogue/MasterofMasks/ArcaneTrickster sort of deal.

Hmm, I'm thinking now it'd be a sort of... homebrew combination of a binder and master of masks taking inspiration from the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series of games.

Mushroom Ninja
2010-09-29, 08:47 PM
Probably a myconid
Ninja (Deceptive Mist Varient) 19/ Shiba Protector 1

The-Mage-King
2010-09-29, 08:52 PM
Back in the old days of the brewing edition war (3.x v. 4e), on the WotC forums, then called "Gleemax", there was a wee-little game called "The Edition War".

In that game, I participated, using a character I had created for the first campaign I ran called "The Mage King".

He, in the original campaign, was a merchant. A god-mode merchant, yes, but a merchant he was. So, in the little forum game, he was basically this: Elf Lich Evoker 20, Incantor 10, Force Missile Mage 5, Master of Snake Mountain (http://dungeons.wikia.com/wiki/Master_of_Snake_Mountain_(3.5e_Prestige_Class)) 5. And some other stuff, too.

Anyway, he was a bit... Over eager to fight things, resulting in: A) the landscape altering considerably after each battle, and B) a few castles vanishing.

And so that ended, with the character vanishing into the black aether of void, hoped to never to be seen again (by his allies).

Yeah. He came back. As a vestige, due to having somehow annoyed the dieties enough that they thought it would be a good idea to make him immortal and sealed in a prision dimension. Unfortunately, he was accidentally summoned by an Anima Mage looking for power.

But that's another tale.

EDIT: Forgot to put the last PrC on there...

Gensh
2010-09-29, 08:57 PM
In D&D 3.5, Gensh, the current version of Genzodus would be a Necropolitan Drow Shaper 5/Astral Zealot 8 (Hyperconscious)/Electrokineticist (3.0 version) 7. My ectopic suit would be my mummy bandages and would pretty much be set to mobility, fast healing, and extreme deflection.

Silverclaw Shifter (stupid character limit, stupid sesquipedalian loquaciousness) was a werewolf hunting Shifter in Eberon.

She's also the character who got burned at the stake and retaliated with an illusory Inn fire, for those who would remember.

BunnyMaster42
2010-09-29, 09:26 PM
A 14th level Warforged druid with a penchant for rabbits and other small, furry creatures, like chinchillas and voles.

Why he insists upon adding the 42 is a mystery. Perhaps he is the 42nd in a line of bunny loving Warforged, or maybe he has spent so much time amongst his furry brethren that it has shattered his mind into 42 fragments. Or maybe, just maybe, his leporine friends have instilled upon him a greater knowledge of life, the universe, and everything, leading him to honour all of existance by adding 42 to the end of his name for some bizzare reason.

Alignment wise he is true neutral with evil tendancies, as he does not put much stock on the lives of the non-fuzzy. He is also rather xenophobic, avoiding contact with other sentient life as much as possible, only teaming up with others when it serves to further his long-running plan to further the safety of all rabbit-like creatures, whatever it may be...

DnD 3.5.

Usually when I use this name for a character he has levels in homebrew classes. I suppose the closest thing in SRD is ToB, but I have next to no experience with the system. I suppose Human or Half-Orc Warblade 20, IIRC it's the closest to the fighter/barbarian.

Vexxation
2010-09-29, 09:39 PM
Vexxation would probably be either a Changeling Beguiler 20 with Forgery and Bluff maxed, focusing on Illusions, a Gnome Shadowcraft MiracleWorker, or a Changeling Factotum/Chameleon. In any case, the character would speak only in riddles, proverbs, and gibberish, presumably determined using a pre-generated list of phrases and a d500 or so. He/she would constantly be trying to avoid notice and attention, meaning there'd be either emotional problems or a master plan hidden below.

My favorite for flavor is the Chameleon, my favorite for cheese is the Gnome.

_________'__
Lord Henry IV is an Aristocrat 3. His mental stats are all below 8, and his physical stats fare little better, though his strength is by far his best attribute due to lugging around pounds of golden jewelry and exotic furs everywhere. He is 14 years old and with his young wife at his side, he is the de facto ruler of the Typegian Empire, which has not seen a true Emperor in written or oral history, though by custom the Lord is only a steward, safeguarding the throne against the return of the royal lineage. Unfortunately (for the royal lineage and for young Henry's beleaguered gene pool), the caste restrictions on marriage are forbiddingly strict, so some whisper that the royal line is long gone.

I came up with this username for another site, and I got it by removing the vowels and a few consonants from "dragonslayer," so a class that does a good job hunting dragons? My first guess would be Ranger, for favored enemy, but that doesn't seem to work with the idea of an armor-clad warrior bent on destroying the most dangerous creatures around. I guess Warblade is the go-to class for a skilled, magic-less warrior of nearly any type, so I'll go with that.

Dyth is a Gestalt Wild Bard (Animal Companion > Inspiration) with Sorcerer Levels (that give up the Familiar for another Animal Companion at 1/2 level; both designate a single target) he later goes into a Dragon Disciple variant on the Sorc side. He is ALWAYS an arcane caster.

Loex, an AU Dyth, is a Hunting Druidic Avenger with a Vow of Poverty. Preferably a variant.

Dyth lacks a non-gestalt, while Loex lacks a gestalt.

Those things hanging from his belt? Holy Symbols (I'm not a great artist). It was his personal mission in life to bring the Gods to their knees. Of course he couldn't just go up to a God and bring the smackdown, so he went around converting people to...not atheism, but more dystheism - an acknowledgment of the existence of Gods, but with a decidedly disapproving attitude towards them. Of course, clerics/etc that wouldn't convert, he'd just kill and collect their Holy Symbol to wear around his belt. Eventually he didn't have enough room for them all, so he started carting most of them around in sacks and just wearing the important ones - the ones owned by High Priests, Prophets, or Demigods.

He took especial care to research each religion he was fighting against, figure out what they hated the most, and desecrate each Holy Symbol he acquired accordingly. So, Good Holy Symbols might be tarnished and smeared with blood, while Evil (Un)Holy Symbols might be soaked in Holy Water. Those are generic, but more specific ones might be if a god has a specific affinity for snakes, he might wrap the Holy Symbol in snakeskin. Or if a god has a specific hatred of gnomes, he might melt it down and fashion it into a crude representation of a gnome.

Eventually, his goal was to kill the Gods by sapping all their worshipers (which worked in this setting). His reasoning? He wanted to prove that mortalkind could do things for themselves from now on. The Gods are just some antiquated system that causes more harm than help. Sure, one might say that if only the Good Gods were left, everything would be better, but those so called "Gods of Righteousness" couldn't be bothered to get off their ass and save his family when they were in need. And why? Clerics shout to their gods all the time and get help. Why not help me? Well, clearly I didn't shout loud enough - they couldn't hear me. We'll see if they hear me now.

Stats were something like Cleric 7 with Destruction and Protection domains (He worshiped a cause, obviously. "End all the Gods. Protect Mortalkind.") with mediocre wisdom (just enough to be able to cast his current spell level) and high Strength/Constitution. High ranks in Knowledge (Religion), with some ranks in Forgery and Profession (Clerk). He was a bureaucratic pencil-pusher before he snapped, beefed up, acquired a PC class, and went on that rampage.

Nowadays, I'd probably try to swing something like a Crusader (ToB wasn't out at the time) with maybe some plans to go into Ur-Priest and a flavorless Ruby Knight Vindicator.

Hunter of Jello
Elven Ranger 6/ Wizard 1 /Arcane Archer X (Pathfinder version)
CG with extreme hated of Oozes

Info:
Specialization in hunting down and slaying all Ooze creatures, no matter the location.
Favored Enemy: Ooze
Favored Enemy: Undead (often encountered in old ruins and dungeons)
Favored Terrain: Underground
Archery Combat Styles

The Hunter of Jello is a sworn enemy to all gelatinous monstrosities and has dedicated his life to the destruction of every ooze in the Multiverse. The Hunter often joins adventuring parties who travel into hidden underground lairs in the secret hope that he will find a nest of oozes and be able to slay as many of them as possible.

His name is not widely spoken of by the common people, but in some circles he is an object of great speculation and mystery. Many a powerful lich or wizard has stared dumbfounded as they come across the destruction he has wrought on the oozes guarding the perimeter of their sanctums. He arrives unseen and blasts away all their gelatinous pets, then leaves without ever attempting to pierce further into their lairs.

Who is this strange Jello Hunting crusader? Why does he have such a burning hatred for gelatinous masses? And are the rumors of him being seen actually eating the dead monsters true?! We may never know.

I want to say spellthief. Maybe gestalted with either duskblade, warblade, or swordsage. It'd basically boil down to a martial trickster with a top hat. He'd have a knack for pulling the same trick thrice times, just to be annoying.

Actual roots are against board policy, so lets go with the etymological source (hebrew roots meaning "high mountain", "mountain of strength" or "enlightened" or egyptian roots (Aa-Ren, "Great Fighter", "Great Hero").

So something martially focused. I'm lazy right now, so lets just say Goliath (because of the mountain part) Monk 2/Psy War 18...(because of the enlightenment part).

Kumori
2010-09-30, 04:55 AM
I started using this name back when I was trying to teach myself to speak Japanese. I used an online translator in an attempt to get a good sounding name to use as my xbox live gamertag. What I came up with was Kumori, meaning 'shadow', and ekisu, meaning 'essence'. I was to be nothing more than the essence of a shadow. Kumori is more often translated into 'cloud' or 'cloudy' and ekisu is more of an 'extract'. So I am what can be extracted from a cloud: Rain.

D&D 3.5

Gnorman
2010-09-30, 04:59 AM
Gnorman was originally a 2e Illusionist/Thief, though I've transfered him into a number of different incarnations over the years. Mostly, he tends to be heavy on the mage side and light on the thief side, concentrating on technical and tinkering skills rather than stealth or diplomatic ones.

Essentially, a bog-standard crazy gnome.

How long have you played DDO? Are you a regular on the DDO forums? If you frequent the forums, I 99% guarantee you know who I am.

If you want and are still reading this thread, I'll give you two guesses. This forum handle refers to a signature I had back early in DDO's original launch.

As for me... the name is very... well. To me it suggests either an outsider of some kind, or a good cleric. A saint perhaps.

But the avatar has been a hummingbird since forever. But that's a form that druids can't shapeshift into without being epic.

So either Epic Druid, or an Archon/Guardinal.

TechnOkami as a PC? That would be too complicated, since I decided TechnOkami is a wolf god of all techno (and other elecronic music genres, aka trance). Yes I did take a lot of influence from Okami. Realistically though, TechnOkami would have to be like a greater/intermediate deity, started as an awakened wolf, went into levels of bard, the most broken build you can find... & yeah.

Methinks I'll actually go and figure out just what TechnOkami would be.
