So I was recently reading a thread on statting up Lina Inverse from Slayers, and it was brought up that her sword would be a skillful sword. So I looked it up.

A skillful weapon is one that grants proficiency with it and improves their base attack bonus to a minimum of 3/4 their level as a cleric of their level.

My question to you, my fellow playgrounders, would it increase your character's bab to full bab if you already had medium bab? And if so, what if you already had full bab?

No. It only raises your BAB if it's lower than 3/4 your level.

It's good for builds that include levels in PrCs like Warhulk or Survivor, that have 0 BAB advancement...

At very high levels (17-20), when character wealth really goes nuts, it can be pretty fun to buy your fragile caster characters a Skillful Spiked Chain, just so they can make attacks of opportunity with it. I like the idea of a Psion with a Skillful Suppression (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/items/weapons.htm#suppression) Spiked Chain.
