There have been a lot of threads about the outer planes, and while reading them I realized I knew next to nothing about most of them. What are the best sources of information when it comes to Planescape and the Outer Planes (since I'm just looking for fluff, any edition is fine)?

Manual of the Planes for AD&D 1st edition.
Planescape for AD&D 2nd edition.
Manual of the Planes for 3.X edition.
4th edition doesn't have "Outer Planes" per se, as the new cosmology with the astral sea and the elemental chaos combines older planes into new ones (the astral plane and the outer planes with the gods combined into the astral sea, the inner planes were mixed together and became the elemental chaos, where the Abyss also lies now). There is also the Far Realm, where cthulhoid beings dwell, and which I'd call the "Outer Plane" for the 4th edition cosmology. This can be read in Manual of the Planes for 4th edition.
