NPC to PC advancment. Help!

Hey all, A short while ago I found a thread that set out a progression for PCs to start as a commoner and at level 3 you retrain as a NPC class then once you reach about level 6 you should have retrained fully as a Warrior (or other NPC class) and then you start retraining as a PC classes.

Does this ring any bells to you playgrounders? I believe it was linked in someone's sig here.

I have posted this in the gaming forum but seeing as I saw it in someone's signature I thought this is the main hub for someone to recognise it

This probably (read certainly) doesn't belong here in friendly banter.

I haven't seen what you're talking about, but why not set out to retrain them straight away rather than give them 6 levels of useless with a side of useless. Getting through six levels lasts longer than some campaigns I've been in, even without the brutality of accumulating that XP with d4 hitdice and no class features. At least start them at the other npc class rather than commoner.
