i recently had an idea for a character ill be playing in a lvl 13ish campaign, its a warforged that is a full wizard and preps spells like repair x damage and reconstruct (lv 6 spell i found somewhere that is basically heal for wf) so on top of being a specialist necromancer/evoker/whatever ill also be able to use my lower lvl spells to heal myself. the wf immunities are very nice as well but the one thing i need to get around is the wf 5% afc, does anyone know of any feats/items that can get rid of that pesky afc and what do people think of my idea for a build? can anyone see any problems?

Unarmoured Body. Problem solved.

EDIT: It's a feat, found in the same book you find our friend the Warforged.

Isnt there an armor enhancement that reduces arcane spell fail chance and can be placed on the WF body? Twilight or something like that? At work, no books.

It is indeed called Twighlight and it is in Magic Item Compendium.

There is also a one level dip of Spellsword from the Complete Warrior. If you can afford the prereqs.

Also at work and also without books. :P

get in a party of all warforged and take a level of warweaver. Be a focused transmuter (i think the repair spells are transmutation). Now you are the mass bufftastic healer robot of doom.

Or become and eldrich thurge for iornman!

from what i can remember from playing ddo i think twilight is -10% or -15% afc. hmm i may have to consider getting the mithral body feat and have it twilight'd and +5'd for delicious ac. this would mean i would have decent hp, good ac, self healing AND full wiz casting MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Psion (shaper) does this concept better. You can share psionic repair damage (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/psionicRepairDamage.htm) with your psicrystal, and you don't have Arcane Spell Failure.

Heck, you can make a decent tank.
Take Adamantine Body.
Share vigor with your psicrystal. (up to +80hp for both of you)
Manifest share pain on your psicrystal. (half damage goes to your psicrystal)
Share psionic repair damage with your psicrystal whenever your hp runs low. (effectively heal 53 damage for a 2nd-level spell, +9 per spell level)

wow...that is nice. the only downside is that im not as familar with psionics as i am wiz/sorc spells. the reason i liked this concept was the fact that it gives me something usefull i can do with my lower level spells while i am still free to blast/debuff/sod with my higher level spells, your idea is similar but as psions have a psi point pool every time i heal myself i am less able to do higher level spells (powers) , a wiz wf has no such disadvantage however the added benefit of no afc and share pain may tempt me away from an arcane wf...
