Class skills: (4+ Int skill points per level; x 4 at 1st level) : Balance (Dex), Bluff (Cha) Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Disguise (Cha), Diplomacy (Cha), Gather Information (Cha), Hide (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), (Int), Knowledge (The Planes) (Int), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Spellcraft (Int), Spot (Wis), Survival (Wis), Swim (Str),Tumble (Dex), Use Magic Device (Int).

Proficiencies: The Essence seeker is proficient in light armor, they are also proficient with all simple weapons, and one martial weapon of thier choice.

Class Abilities


None of these abilties function while wearing medium or heavier armor:

Quick Step: When you successfully hit an opponent with an attack, you can immediately move 5 feet without invoking an attack of opportunity, you can do this once per turn.

Essence Strike: You successfully strike your opponent in there essence, if you hit your opponent and activate Quick Step in the same turn, you can take a portion of their essence with you, this deals 1d8 damage per 4 levels, that igonores damage reduction.

Armor of Essence: You gain natural armor equal to your Essence Seeker level/2+ your CHA mod.

Evasion: See the rogue class ability Evasion.

Quick Step 2: This replaces quick step, When you successfully hit an opponent with an attack, you can immediately move 15 feet without invoking an attack of opportunity, you can do this twice per turn per turn, if using a full attack action you can continue your action after your movement.

Health of the Universe: When you succesfully damage your opponent with an Essence Strike, you can heal your self the same amount of health, that they took damage.

Bonus Feat: You can take any feat for which you qualify for.

Pounce: When a creature with this special attack makes a charge, it can follow with a full attack.

Quick Step 3: This replaces Quick Step 2, When you successfully hit an opponent with an attack, you can immediately transfer yourself 30 feet without invoking an attack of opportunity, you can do this three times per turn, if using a full attack action you can continue your action after your movement. (If you arrive in a place that is already occupied by a solid body, you and each creature traveling with you take 1d6 points of damage and are shunted to a random open space on a suitable surface within 5 feet of the intended location. )

Outside the sight: When you successfully hit an opponent with an Essence Strike, you can immediately turn invisible for 1 round, this invisibility ends if you attack or cast a spell.

Remove the essence: When successfully hitting an opponent with an Essence strike, they must make a fortitude save equal to 10+1/2 your essence seeker level + your cha modifier+ 1/6th the essence strike damage (rounded down), or be stunned for one round.

Improved Evasion: See the Rogue Class feature

Quick Step 4: This replaces Quick Step 3, When you successfully hit an opponent with an attack, you can immediately transfer yourself 45 feet without invoking an attack of opportunity, you can do this four times per turn, if using a full attack action you can continue your action after your movement. (If you arrive in a place that is already occupied by a solid body, you take 1d6 points of damage and are shunted to a random open space on a suitable surface within 5 feet of the intended location. )

Essence Shatter: When you successfully hit with an Essence Strike, you may choose to deal 1d6+1 points of stat damage to a stat of you choice to the creature hit by Essence strike, in place of the damage caused by Essence Strike, this abilty can only be used once per turn.

Essence Clone: When you successful hit an opponent with Essence strike, a copy of you appears in a square adjacent to the target, the clone can make an immediate melee attack, the clone lasts for until your next turn, the clone has an armor class equal to yours, and 10 hp. It attacks at your highest attack bonus, with a copy of the same weapon you wielded while making the attack. The equipment of the copy also dissipates after one round.

Perfect Step: This replaces Quick Step 4, When you successfully hit an opponent with an attack, you can immediately transfer yourself 200 feet without invoking an attack of opportunity, if using a full attack action you can continue your action after your movement. After transferring, you gain a +5 bonus to your attack and all saves until your next turn.(the bonus from this does not stack with itself) (If you arrive in a place that is already occupied by a solid body, you take 1d6 points of damage and are shunted to a random open space on a suitable surface within 5 feet of the intended location. )

Have you thought about how a permanent untyped +1D8 at first level mixed with a 5' step with each attack at first level with no context requirement can be splashed with other builds?

Bastard sword and whip trip ranger comes to mind.

I can see a single level of this replaces 1 or 2 feats out of that spec and adding an additional 10-40 dmg per round even at mid level.

hmmm i havent actually, i may delay the 5 foot step, and just make quick step activate the essence strike

If you want to balance it, disable its ability to work against a lot of enemies, same as sneak attack did.
Really what this is looking more like is something towards the path of incarnum or psionic.
