Hey all,

Apart from the obvious advantages (reach, increased weapon damage), what are the best ways to make use of being a large character in mellee? From memory, there are some feats that you need to be size large to qualify for...and of course, War Hulk.

For example, what would be good feats/build for a 1/2 Ogre mellee specialist?

That's pretty much it, really. The increased damage doesn't make a big difference without some very massive size differences, but mostly you're looking at boosts to reach (important for crowd control), combat maneuvers (bull rush, trip, disarm, overrun), and a couple other things like breaking objects and intimidate checks. Add in a little "qualifying for feats/prestige classes", and you're pretty much looking at the whole list, OTOH.

1) Build a large-sized overrun focused build.
2) Attempt to use the overrun action on a medium enemy when two other medium enemies flank it.
3) Scratch your head alongside the DM when you try and figure out how the hell this works.
4) Give up on overrun as a tactical option unless it's against an opponent of your same size or one size larger.

I'd go with Dungeon Crasher or just throwing stuff.
I think a throw build can cheese up to 15k damage per attack and a dungeon crasher build is really good crowd control, you can take their frontline and get it away from the casters and embed it into a wall.

Alternate options is there are certain builds like psionic powers which grant easy and early access to enlarge self which probably works better when you're already large but you'll have to doublecheck. Might be Warmind.

Combine powerful build with power attack and knockback for fun AND profit! Dungeon crash to taste.
