Dragon as in the trope, of course - the villainous subordinate that makes for an epic boss fight before the main course!

Today's Dragon needs to be a level 18 caster with ten of those levels in Infernomancer (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9492410#post9492410). His backup consists of tenth level barbarians, and he's CN. Tell me Playgrounders - how would YOU build him?

Am i reading this class right?
-lvl 1, it gets to cast spontaneously any spells with [Fire] description, or spells that deal fire damage (not including those metamagic'd to do so)
-lvl 4, all conjurations with [summoning], [teleportation] & [calling] are now fire spells, and can thus be cast spontaneously?
-lvl 7 all dispels get the same treatment?
Alright, pretty much a flat upgrade for a wizard, but you'd have to invest quite a bit of gp in your book to make the most of it.
-lvl 9, all [fire] spells are automatically known.
...
Does this add up like i think it does :smallconfused:? What sort of a party are you dealing with here anyway? Any particular reason for making the 10th level completely skippable in favor of base casting class?

As far as build goes, unless the entire party is very high-powered, any building beyond taking wizard, writing a list of all the spells he can cast spontaneously and preparing defensive buffs in the daily slots would be overkill, really. Losing Heart of Water might sting a bit, but there's a ring for that anyway.
If you could give me the party composition and some guidelines for how mich POWAH this guy is supposed to wield, i'll write up a build . Also, i couldn't find the Controlled Immolation feat, so mind posting that with either the class or here?
Edit: doh, a sorcerer with a heavy emphasis on fire spells for the class provided spells known would be a pretty good self-nerf. Still quite mighty, but without the full defensive options.

Controlled Immolation is in the SRD under Spelltouched feats; I've got too any tabs open to link at the moment.

I'm not looking for Mailman level optimization, as the party consists of the following:

16th level Fighter. Yes, fighter. No, not ubercharger. Really, that's all you need to know.

16th level conjurer wizard, focusing on dropping monsters onto the field. Augment summon & all that good schnazz. Jank at tactics.

11th level Cleric/5th level Psion (kineticist).

10th level Bard/5th level Seeker of the Song.

EDIT: The focus, ideally, is to give the guy abilities that make the damage fly without making it happen TOO godawful fast. Think collateral damage and OOH SHINY more than "Haaka Palle!". The party has easy access to fire immunity, which they've been using, so they can shrug off the first 40 points of fire damage that's coming their way.

Focused Conjurer5/Incantatrix3/Infernomancer10

1 Fiery Spell
Human Controlled Immolation
Flaw Iron Will
Flaw Empower Spell
3 Precise Shot
Wiz5 Easy Metamagic: Fiery Spell
6 Skill Focus Concentration
6Inc Easy Metamagic: Empower Spell
9 Maximise Spell
12 Easy Metamagic: Maximise Spell
15 Twin Spell
18 Easy Metamagic: Twin Spell

Argghhh this would be sooo much easier without this class! Twinned, Maximised, Empowered, Fiery Spelled Lesser Orb of Fire is where it's at, really! That does everything this class needs...

{1} cast at min CL(6) to block any attempts to teleport near by summons/others.
Doesn't impede his own teleports if they are headed more than 30ft from his current location.
{2} an 'oh Sh-' card. Need to pull him out of trouble? More options for that are always good.

The unmarked spells are spells he gets from class features. I focused his known spells around defensive buffs,
as nothing is worse than a climatic encounter ended by a lucky crit, no :smallwink:?
For offense, Blazing Potence synchs up nicely with all the damage-over-time that would otherwise be worthless. 12d6 Flaming sphere? Why not.
15d4 from Body of the Sun? Sure. Arcane Fusion and it's Greater version let him pour out all sorts of area-damage-over-time effects,
forcing the party to play firefighters with their dispels or roast to a nice crispy finish :smalltongue:. Ignis Daemonia means that their clever fire immunity amounts to naught. Sure, the damage is halved, but it all adds up.

I used elite array for stats, and didn't include items. Hope this is useful to you .
BTW, what is "Haaka Palle!" a reference to? The closest i can think of would be "Hakkaa Päälle!" from finnish cavalry in the 30 years war.

It's the rough English version of the more accurate one you posted :p

This DOES, in fact, help, though I am still accepting submissions ^_^
