The bartender begins, "No I wouldn't, but I..." when someone small, maybe up to your shoulder enters, and walks over to you guys, and everyone but you 4 fall to the ground unconscious.

Tosp slips in, quiet and unnoticed. Cautiously, he voices, "Does anybody else here have one of these 'adventurer's licenseees and what the Hells is going on?'" Tosp watches the bar patrons fall to the floor.

Kaito begins to fetch his license for the bartender and furrows his brow as the dwarf mentions "drunks".

He gives the barkeep a knowing look and mutters Quite the claim coming from a groundling.

Suddenly and without warning, everyone in the tavern collapses. Everyone but the dwarf, dragonborn, and a kobold that Kaito had not noticed before. The warrior's hand snaps to the hilt of his katana but he does not draw it. His eyes dart around the tavern and between the other adventurers for any sign of danger.

Kaito moves away from the bar and faces the newcomer, his hand still on his katana. I prefer to stand. Who are you? His face is determined but it is clear he is unsure about the short man.

"I think I'll stand too, thanks." Tosp growls, still keeping a hand on the hilt of his dagger. He's already thinking, though. All these unconscious bar-goers... that's a good haul right there.

He sighs dramatically, bringing his green hand up to his face (which happens to be hidden) to rub his temples. "Why does no one listen to me... Anyways, I have a job for you. In two hours, the four of you will be contacted for an easy "newcomer's job". It will be to scout an area to the south of the city, and report back what you find. You will find there a goblin dojo. I want you to break in, fight the goblins, and report to the Office that you found nothing. I will contact you and ask for what you found. OK?

Kaito gives the short man a quizzical look. Who wouldn't fight goblins to protect Nippon? And we are newly licensed adventurers. I must ask then stranger, what is it with these demands, and this display? As he speaks the last part he gestures to the fallen patrons. Then Kaito cranes his head as if trying to look beyond the short man. And what is on your back? If Kaito was intimidated by the man, he was not making it known.

Tosp narrows his eyes, noting the stranger's hand in the gloom. The kobold hisses, "And just why does a greenskin want his own kind dead?"

I have enough power that anyone who doesn't have a significant amount of power and mental strength, o are used to it, can stay standing. As for what is on my back, He reaches back and grabs it, "this is my sword." He pulls it off and the blade unfolds to be bigger than the stranger , or any of you, yet he easily holds it in one hand. He re-sheathes it. "Finally, just because I am a goblin doesn't mean I am an evil beast that wants only death and destruction, nor does it mean that I am an ally to every goblin out there."

With that, Tosp takes up his gold and lies down on the floor, making a point of showing putting his hands where people can see them.

He addresses the group as a whole, referring to the spectacle of a small man incapacitating an entire tavern with no force other than his mere presence. Is this what I should come to expect in Nippon? It is strange to me that such a being could not simply do his own dirty work. Frustrated that the thought hadn't occurred to him when the man was still there, Kaito waits for the others to introduce themselves.

He got to the second to last drink, which happens to be the strongest alcoholic drink ever recorded, and got so caught up in his conversation that he just drank it straight. He dropped and is now sobering up. The look on his face was priceless. Other than that, no, I don't know anything about them."

He sets the scroll down and leans his sword against the stool he is sitting on before enjoying his meal. After four large mouthfuls, he says So has anyone read this thing? He points to the scroll.

Kildrak comes down from upstairs and grabs a nice hot plate from the bartender. This definitely brightens my morning. He sits down and says a prayer before taking a bite. Then turns to Kaito and expresses I have, and I find the last bit of it a tad annoying. But no matter, Looks like we got out mission. Then with a hushed voice That, after you read, we are deliberately going to not do so we can perform our "higher" mission. Kildrak says with a wink :smallwink:

The only thing I am confused about is why we don't depart now.... Redgar finishes his breakfast and heads towards the door expecting the others to follow.

When you leave the inn, you see Steve with four horses, he hands you the horses, and leaves. With the horses are directions to the alcove.

Possibly the ones who hired us use this location a lot? Or maybe there is more too this. Kildrak pauses. Who knows, but we only have forward to go so lets be off. With that Kildrak mounts his horse and looks to the others.

If there is more to this, we will have to wait until we return to discover what it could be. Redgar then urges his mount out onto the road and towards their destination.
