So, my DM and I have agreed on a reasonable nerf for Metamorphosis. I can only change into creatures that I have been in combat with. I like this, it feels flavor-correct.

I do have a question about the following text of the spell:

"A body with extra limbs does not allow you to make more attacks (or more advantageous two-weapon attacks) than normal."

I am a 7th level Psion Egoist. I have one attack per turn. If I change into a Dire Ape (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/direApe.htm), can I make a full round attack? If I change into a Bulette (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/bulette.htm) (say, next level with Overchannel)... can I make a full round attack?

I'm guessing no... but others seem to insist the answer is yes.

Thanks for any help,

Matt

That line is about Multiweapon Fighting and the rest. Because those are dependent on limbs, the spell must specify that giving you more limbs doesn't let you use Multiweapon Fighting.

Natural attacks, however, are perfectly fair game, since the spell explicitly gives you natural attacks, and natural attacks can always be used in a full attack.

Thanks a bunch. I appreciate the clarification. I'm not always convinced that they thought the preciseness of their wordings through.

(for example, the choices of words in Metamorphic Transfer is confusing as to how many things you can use per day, and telekinetic thrust as to which kinds of weapons you can hurl and get weapon attacks)
