The winds shift, the smell of fire carries far. You stare at you're 3 companions, the most varied of people to be called together and yet you have been. You don't know why you don't where you're supposed to be going, you only know the names of the people you're with, that no two of you are the same.

You sit in a small stone room, about 40ft by 40ft, you're all sitting in large red chairs around a fireplace at the east wall. There is 4 beds on the north wall, a table with 4 wooden chairs on the south wall and a large metal door on the west wall. You are all pretty tired and are just finishing up your post meal conversation and drinks.

Stretching, the elven wizard tries to shake off the tiredness that follows such a well cooked meal. The converstaion had been, so far, interesting to him. Each of his compatirots showed tallents for different skills and all of them were of different races, or so it appeared. Taking a piece of leftover meat, he would reach up to his right shoulder and feed his familiar the treat. "It appears the question is, why have we been brought together?" The elf would poise the question to the group while the raven eyed each one of them.

Edro lies on his back, his head resting on his hyena's side, "I was just beginning to wonder that myself," he then sits up and grabs a piece of meat as well, throwing it behind him, Shenzi catching and eating the morsel. "I was called here for my connection to Ikyproth the Laughing Hound. Shenzi here is one of Ikyproth's daughters, just like the rest of her breed."

Bardal takes in his companions, interesting folk all of them; he leans back in his chair, twirling small orbs of teal and orange light between his fingers. "I'm here because I chose to be," he pipes up,"it seemed like something that I needed to do, more than my usual traveling, strange I can't think of a more eloquent way to put it." He says with a chuckle.

He puffs out the lights, and leans forward in his chair (as well as he can given his size).

Beldak belches, By Moradin's beard, that was some good eats. As to why I am here well, Moradin came to our seer one night and asked for a warrior to stand for him. I was honored to be picked. And he stretches out his mammoth war hammer clanking against his shield. [The warhammer is also his holy symbol. It is obviously well made and well used.]By the by, my name is Beldak Urtek, I didn't gather any of yours?

Before the sun even set, Edro fell asleep, his head resting on his hyena's side as she slept lightly.

Corellon Larethian

"I am Corellon Larethian, I am here on behalf of he for whom I was named." He would give his introduction before heading to bed, feeling fairly safe in company of his new compatriots. They all seemed to be like him, and yet somehow different. He couldn't understand why though.

The group of you falls asleep, rather fast, and the night is one of rejuvenating rest, you're not sure why but you all wake up feeling so full of energy. You also notice the fireplace has been replaced with an open doorway to a balcony.

Bardal pulls out his paper and ink and begins writing down the days events, he goes a few more hours before getting some shut eye. He bids a good night to his companions and lets sleep take him.

Edro stretches as he awakes, petting Shenzi's head. He only notices the door after taking some of his rations of dried meat and feeding both Shenzi and himself. "That wasn't there before"

Beldak roots around in his pack till he finds the hardtack and gobbles it down, washing the dryness out with a swig from his flask. He then announces, "GOOD MORNING, everyone. I feel like I could do just about anything this morning. Better than I have felt in forever. Must have been that plush human flooring, nice and comfy if I do say so myself."

He then lowers his head and kneels before his Hammer and Shield and begins a low chant in dwarvish to Moradin.

Having found a sense of self that he rarely reached, Corellon awoke from his meditation with a certian clarity. Hearing the words of Beldak, he would address him in Dwarven, "May Moradin smile apon you this morning and all the blessings of the earth be with you." He felt little to no need to offer a prayer to his patron other than the focus on his spells and spellbook in the morning. His familiar, the Raven Zanith, would turn the pages for his master as they studied. Once this was complete, he would rise from his sitting position to take a closer look at the door. "I'm surprised I didn't notice it before..." He would keep his distance, just taking note of it from afar.

"Wasn't the firepit there when we went to sleep? I don't know about you but this is to much to be simple coincidence, i'm checking this out." Edro walks over and opens the door. One hand on one of his swords.

(door was already open, it was just an archway)

It leads out to a balcony, over looking a well a floating city. You can see it extend out for quite a bit and then the edge appears over that you can see a great ocean.

Rolling his eyes, Corellon would answer the simpleton's question. "The benifits to having a floating city are numerous. It is easily defended from monsters and armies alike. The vantage point also allows one to see further out from the city. Not to mention that if it can float, it can be assumed that it can move. Once you have used your resources in one area, you can move to another." The elf Wizard would try to judge the distance between them and the city as well as how high up it was floating. "With that being said, it was probably made by one of the more foolish races... even with all the advantages, if it were to fall it would surely be destroyed."

EdroGrimshell
2010-10-18, 01:28 PM
"It's a waste of resources. The time and magic it takes to keep the city floating must be immense. I may not be a mage, or all to familiar with magic, but i know everything needs to be maintained to keep functioning."

Trys to find a way down from the balcony or something that might aid in crossing the distance between them and the city. Even if he finds something, he heads back inside the room. "I ponder, why were we sent here in the first place? A floating city could be of little interest to my patron."

"Animals? Simple beasts that can be turned away with the most simple of gestures? I don't see how that will prove our status as god-born. Still... if that will prove us, take us to where we fight."
