The idea is that it's a large box that looks like an old timey phone (the kind with a crank) on it are the buttons but each one is for a different reason. Insert a silver piece and you hit the button and a disc comes out with the ability of telepathy on it. Depending on which button you pressed a different disc will come out. After the call goes through you put the disc back in, on the inside is a portal to where are the discs stay.

The idea is that each button is to summon something.
Dial 1 for a cleric to heal
Dial 2 for a cleric to resurrect
Dial 3 for a cleric to remove a curse or disease
Dial 4 for a wizard to summon a monster (different prices depending on the level of monster)
Dial 5 to be teleported away (to the nearest town)
Dial 6 to have a spell cast on your group (like water breathing)
Dial 7 to have transportation device delivered
Dial 8 to have supplies teleported to you
Dial 9 to get an appraisal on an item.

The idea is that this can help out of any real jam but it costs a great deal like just calling costs ten gp even if you don't ask for anything. The healing costs double the average price while resurrect just costs half the average price added onto the additional price the monsters cost 1000 per level for the monster summon (monster 5 costing 5,000). The teleport away costs 500 gp while supplies sent your way costs the price times 1.5 (the same counting for transportation devices delivered. Finally the appraisal costs 90 gp.

What do you think? I know it might be game breaking but the idea is that you can get whatever you want but it costs alot.

This is confusing....you say that you put in a piece of silver to get a disk....what does the disk do? and where do you put all the other money for the stuff you get?

The disk is to put a call out to the people and once they get there they take the required amount.

just put a piece of silver in and have the machine do it's thing. Eliminate the middleman, since he isn't really useful.

Yeah, I would imagine it more as a vending machine than a phone. Pay the appropriate cost for services rendered and then get the desired outome immediately. I do rather like the idea of calling the Lower Planes or something, though.
