Not a really big deal, but I was browsing and noticed that the winners of the second-last (before it was abolished I guess?) officialish homebrew contest still have their bling (Library Lovers Contest Winner). As a completely unbiased third party (ie one of the winners) I was wondering why nobody ever got bling from the Isle of X contest?

Probably the same reason as why the second to last contest winners never had their titles removed and the same reason that the contests weren't continued.

I can understand not continuing the contests, but it seemed to be due more to a declining interest from the community than anything else (I understand that previous contests had many more entries). That doesn't really explain the lack of bling for the last contest which had already ended at that point.

If it was actually because of a technical issue or something with the forum that I don't understand, I of course withdraw my question. :smalltongue:

I was not involved in the contests, but I believe it may have been related to a lack of time for the moderators running the contests.

Totally understandable, but it has been like two and a half years.

Dear Moderators,
I believe Kellus' actual question is this: "May I please have my award for winning the contest, namely the custom forum title, even though it's been 2.5 years since the contest I won, and the contest in general, ended?"
Sincerely,
Serpentine.

I volunteered to run them some time ago, but was told I'd have to be an admin first.
The Powers of the Playground thought about me as an admin, crossed themselves, and decided that the competitions would stay unmanned until after the exorci for awhile.

I must admit, I'm kinda surprised you weren't Modified...

Sheriff: Alright, now we're well off into things we don't discuss. At this time, we're more likely to take down the penultimate contest's titles than add year-old titles.

Design contests ended because of a combination of factors (largely low participation and significant time investment required at at time when other mod duties called). We might restart them at some point. But unless it's run by staff, it's not "Official."
