Are you being given free LA? If not, don't. There are no templates in existence that outweigh 2 more wizard levels for a full caster.

Actually I am.

Since you're getting free LA, Phrenic gives a heft Int bonus IIRC.

Quasilycanthrope gives you DR 10/silver and the ability to make yourself kind of look like a cow. It's not bad for a +1.

What's that from?

+2 Int, as well as +2 Wis, +4 Cha, and a handful of Psi-like abilities.

Wow Phrenic really sound awesome, especially when combined with magic in the blood. Any more templates for my Wizard character?

Have a look at Crystal Keep's template (http://www.crystalkeep.com/d20/rules/DnD3.5Index-Templates.pdf) list, while you're at it.

I was looking at Saint, and it looks awesome but it has some nasty prerequisites.

Unseelie fey from Dragon Compendium?

Wings, special vision, season-based ability (including a dispel magic once per day), DR/Cold Iron, -2 str, +2 dex, -2 con, +2 cha. But you gots to be evil.

La +0. Worth the evilness?

Edit: Oh, and +4 intimidate.

Two Words:

BoED, Saint.

End of line.

Nasty is the opposite of what it requires

Actually, if you can get away with ret-conn'ing the RP requirements, it's down-right awesome. The +2 to all spell DC's alone...

Edit: Sleep-deprivation and spelling: bad mix.

Why would you want to look like a cow?

Why would you want to look like a cow?

Well for humor, if you're playing play a cleric or paladin at least. :smallwink:

Why would you want to look like a cow?
A better question would be, why wouldn't you want to look like a cow?

Well, you can look like anyone else, as long as you're vaguely bovine. Or ursine. Or porcine (wait, I can look even MORE like an orc?).

Isn't there some kind of Magic-blooded template?

Why would you want to look like a cow?

Man, if you have to ask that question, you really aren't playing the right kind of game.

Let's just say there's a reason bulls are called bulls and leave it at that. :smallwink: Hey, whaddya know, it's even handy for BOEF games.

I'm making a wizard and I am thinking about applying a template that have LA of 0-2.

Half-Giant + Primordial Giant (Xendrik) + Phrenic (XPH). LA = +2.

Str -2, Dex -2, Int +6, Wis +2, Cha +8

I would have to say Phrenic as well. Along with the ability bonuses, you get some really awesome powers as you level up.

http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Phrenic_Creature

Not to mention PR 10+Class level. Keep in mind when you use those free Psionic powers that your Manifester level is equal to your character level. The key phase for Psi-Like abilities is, "When a creature uses a psi-like ability, the power is manifested as if the creature had spent a number of power points equal to its manifester level, which may augment the power to improve its damage or save DC."

This means at level 3, your mind thrust is doing 3d10 and not the default 1d10.
