Existing threads not in list

About a month ago I opened a thread that hadn't many replies, so it began to go back in the forum page listing. Now it has completely phased out from the page, but it is still existent, as I have a link to it in my sig and said link still works.
Where do such threads go when they phase out of the forum list?

The thread I'm talking about is this (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169197), dated October September 21st; today, in the Homebrew Design (where it was published), last thread on page 9 is dated October September 22nd.

They go nowhere.

To explain, the dates in that thread are September, not October. That means that thread is older than one month. Most forums on this board are set to view one months' worth of threads. As such, if a thread's last post is one month and one day old, you can't view it without changing the default setting.

To change that, find the viewing settings at the bottom of each forum.
