Apologies for getting this up so late! We have a nice variety this contest, and it's all solid and well done. Great job to all the contestants!

And it's over! The winners are:

Playground Favorite: unosarta's Zaletah (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9431983&postcount=5)!

Most Fun: Thrice Dead Cat's Relicforged (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9429854&postcount=4)!

Wish I'd Thought of That: M-Bark's Unspirited (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9553604&postcount=7)!

Great job, everyone! We got a pretty small turnout this time, but the entries were still superb! I'm looking forward to next time!

Or just look at the whole thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9609341).

Remember! We have two categories of voting for common voters, and one just for the entrants: Playground Favorite, Most Fun, and Wish I'd Thought of That! So remember to list your vote for both categories! Entrants are allowed to vote for themselves, but that's usually poor form, and you're encouraged not to unless you truly believe yours is far and away superior.

Playground Favorite: This is the basic one. Any member of the playground who wishes to will vote for whichever entry they like the best. Whoever gets the most votes wins.

Most Fun: For this category, voters are to vote for whichever entry they think they would most want to play as in a campaign.

Wish I'd Thought of That!: Only the entrants are allowed to vote in this category. Entrants will PM me their vote for whichever entry they wish they had made themselves. Maybe you really liked the fluff behind it and wish you'd thought it up; maybe you think the fluff is dumb, but one of the mechanics really caught your fancy and you wish you could've used it in your own creation. Whatever! Pick the one you most wish you'd thought of!

Last day of voting is November 5th.

Playground Favorite: Probably the Unspirited. They have a cool concept and a pretty well done execution.

Most Fun: Relicforged of Frame Cleric of Pelor. Who spent most of their life with an illusion spell that covered their skin, making it seem whole. Just... yeah. Also, it seems that all of the racial variants for Relicforged are not yet done, which is something that ought to be rectified. :smallwink:

Well it's really hard to decid on this one. The only one that really stand out is the Relicforged but while the fluff is really good I think that as written it's overpored for an LA +0 "template/race" because you don't lose anything in addition it's unfinished. So sorry i won't vote for your work this time Thrice dead cat.

Now for my vote well, I won't vote for my own so not much choice left.

Playground Favorite: Zaletah, flying race are rare and the fluff is interesting.

Most Fun: Unspirited specialized but very well suited for their role and with interesting fluff.

Playground Favourite: Zaletah. Their fluff intruiged me intricately and after I realized that they also had a thing with fey, I fervently started looking over it to see if it would make my Unspirited better not enter, but as I did so I found there were great differences and furthermore that the Zaletah had been really thought through both mechanically and flavour-wise.

Most Fun: I like how the Relicforged gain racial features at higher HD. I'm not sure how to interpret the "quasi-template" nature Thrice Dead Cat spoke of, but I presume that he meant for them to be like the Dragonborn, which I fully support. The picture also made me think they'd be perfect for the upcoming (currently ongoing?) Halloween season, which makes them fit all the better in here.

Yeah, I was meaning to get back to those but college has proven to eat more time than I previously thought possible. Worst case scenario, they'll be done around Thanksgiving. I may do some work this weekend.

Votes are currently withheld until I finish reviewing everything.

Bump for the last day of voting, because this contest is great and deserves more votes on any of the entries.

Oh crap! I knew I'd forgotten something! The end date. No worries, it's open for two weeks, not just one. I'll fix that.

I saw you had left that out, but simply checked the submission thread to see if there was an end date and presumed that there was no change. :smalltongue:

Sorry, it's NaNoWriMo's (http://www.nanowrimo.org) fault I'm so slow right now.

It's over!

The next contest will be up soon, but again, probably not as soon as usual, given NaNoWriMo.

Can't wait for the next one, this is a really interesting contest set up, and I liked doing it for the first time.

Same here, I enjoy the unusual set-up of this contest quite a bit. Though if you mean to wait until after November to start it due to Nanowrimo (since participants of Nanowrimo might otherwise also be interested in it), it's understandable.

I'm quite happy I won one of the categories though. Even though it's the one I least expected! :smalleek:
