I'm in a 4e campaign, but the DM can't find anything remotely similar to a WBL chart. We have no idea how much gp worth of magic items each player in our party should start with. Anyone in the playground who can help?

Thanks!

For any adventurer beyond level one, you get a magical item of your level, your level plus one, and your level minus one. You also have gold equal to the cost of a magic item of your level.

I think that's it at least.

If you are starting at level 1: 100 gold
If you are starting at any level other than level 1, you get 3 magic items: one equal to your character level +1, one equal to your character level, and one equal to your character level -1. You also get gold equal to your character level -1.

An example? If you are starting at level 10, you will get: level 11 item, level 10 item, level 9 item, gold equal to a level 9 item.

Amoren is incorrect: you get gold equal to a magic item of your level -1.

Page 143 of the 4e DMG if you want sources.

Also, there is a big difference between "start with" and "have at each level". What we posted above is what each character should "start with".

Big section in the DMG on Rewards. Somewhere in that there are several pages of tables for what the party should receive each level. What the others said is correct about starting wealth.

Okay, thanks!

Hmm, let's see... All right, Dragonslayer weapons are level+1!
