We'll have evidence. We get a child of Hekate, or several, to enchant a series of twelve crystal spheres, each with an illusion of soemthing relating to one of the twelve Olympians, under different names like Sky, War, Peace, etc., and then we create a situation where an eminent scientist discovers one of them, and cannot explain it using conventional science. Then some sort of spokesperson pops up, saying that he or she has discovered another of these crystal spheres and believes that they are divine artifacts, challenges conventional science to explain them, and when conventional science fails to do so, turns belief in these gods into a religion and builds a temple in a major city in America, with each of the twelve spheres, which have now been discovered, being hosted in the temple. People come to the temple, see the twelve magical crystal balls, maybe we could allow them to touch them and have some sort of spell cast to create a mind-affecting spell to activate while someone is touching the sphere, themed to relate to the god or divine force in question. Once someone has experienced said mind-affecting enchantment, there is no way for them to deny the force of said gods.

"IF you get any views for your website, it takes YEARS to get a new religion to start."
What website? And normally you would be correct, even if that technically isn't a reason for not starting the religion, but here we're launching it off of the fame of a famous scientist or meteorologist for Sky, and a famous political figure for Peace and War. We're basing it off of the fame of famous people for the first month or so, then we build the temple, then the masses start to flock to our temples, and we convince them with the evidence. In a best-case-scenario, it should take about two and a half months to get a million followers, in a worst-case-scenario, maybe two years. And however long it takes, it will still increase the power of the gods vastly.

Technically in Jeparo's religion they're not gods, they're "primal forces," but I get the point. However, I do take offense at you saying that it's dumb. I think that it's actually rather clever, and I see no logical reason whatsoever that any of the Greek gods or their children would oppose it.

I know that you and WP are into personality typing, so I'll tell you that I'm an INTJ, and I will also tell you that to gain an INTJ's respect, you have to back up your statements with logic.
And logic states that, with sufficient proof, and basing it off of the fame of famous people, it wouldn't just work, it would be the biggest political change since world war two.

There are such things as special effects. People would think it to be on of those. Also, the political websites would have it eliminated in seconds, as it's very controversial to encourage a religion there, and people would probably think of it as some sort of pedo trap anyway.

As she blows and brushes the developped layer of dust away, the outline of a small trapdoor is revealed. Retrieving from her pocket a small golden key, she inserts it into a miniscule keyhole, turns it, and tah-dah! The trapdoor sprins open. With a nostalgic smile on her face, she lifts out a good-quality sewing machine, and a large bag filled with many fabrics. That's why the temple would be built (probably in New York), because you can't apply special effects to real life. And the point about the political websites, that's fair, but for world-famous scientists? They would feel a duty to try and find out what it is, and if someone has an explanation that makes sense, then people will believe in it.

Who would build a temple?

And the world-famous scientists would delete it too, as it is in no way scientific.

I'm sorry Zexion, but no. And even if it did work, it would be EXTREMELY anticlimatic. I mean, the Greek gods win because Jeparo posted things on websites. Come on, that would be the worst ending ever!

I don't know, Jeparo might melt down some Greek drachmas, sell the gold, buy a piece of land in New York, then pay builders to build a temple. Or maybe he'd ask a god to create money for him. Or create some solid platinum, then sell it.

And the world-famous scientists are world-famous because they have a need to know why something is the way it is. They wouldn't ignore a discovery that twists the laws of reality as they know it.

And it doesn't have to actually affect the power levels of the gods, I'm more interested in it for the RP purposes. And making the gods grateful to Jeparo.

That's why the temple would be built (probably in New York), because you can't apply special effects to real life. And the point about the political websites, that's fair, but for world-famous scientists? They would feel a duty to try and find out what it is, and if someone has an explanation that makes sense, then people will believe in it.

EDIT: Iceman, go here (http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp).

The Titans are the threat bent on world domination, Jeparo says quietly. Right now, we only have the word of Chiron and three Titans, no offense Chiron, but we want solid facts. So why shouldn't we communicate with Camp Gladius to hear their side of the story. They are probably fighting against the Titans as much as we are.

How about a compromise? The cabin leaders go to Camp Gladius under a flag of truce, and an equal number of kids from Camp Gladius come here for a few days. During that time, we have a flag of truce with each other. If the children from Camp Gladius turn out to be barbaric, cruel, heartless bastards, then we will ally with the Titans.

If we allied with them, we could win the war against the Titans. Alternatively, we could ally ourselves with the baby-eating, mortal-killing Titans, and kill a bunch of demigods. The fact of the matter is, we only have the word of Chiron and the Titans that these people are cruel, arrogant bastards, and I think that the Titans are being more than a little hypocritical when they say that.
In addition, who's going to be fighting in this war? Not our parents. Not Chiron. Us. We'd be fighting. We would be fighting demigods just like us, that we've been told we need to fight. Kill a bunch of people. Because a bunch of psychopathic godly killers have told us to. Camp Half-Blood does not obey the Titans. Camp Half-Blood must apply reason to all decisions it makes.
So, I suggest that if we do have an exchange, that I lead it.

Notice that the Olympians are just as bad, if not worse. Key examples:

-Hera threw her own child off a mountain.
-They have killed MUCH more mortals than the titans.
-Zeus has raped like hundreds of people.
-Etc.

Also, when the titans ruled, it an age of peace. Not so much for the Greek gods.

Yeah, and I agree with him. Also, WP, I hope that you realize that, in actuality, Camp Gladius and Lupa are nowhere near the level of evilness and cruelty that the Titans are claiming. They're much, much more of a "Lawful Neutral" alignment.

The Hades cabin roof is supported by obsidian pillars and enormous bones.

Jeparo smiles as he scrolls, then starts to quickly close and delete everything he was working on, then deletes them from the "recycle bin" and the "recently modified" folder, as well as the history, as well as the keystroke records, as well as the records on the internet provider, etc., except for one small word file that he encrypts a few dozen times. After he does this, he restarts the computer.
I just found Camp Gladius, he says casually, flipping a drachma a few times in his hand. If no one answers, he goes outside to Iris-message Hermes.

You can't find Camp Gladius on the internet.

I'll tell you when I figure out when we're leaving.

You can't find Camp Gladius on the internet.
Why not? If someone wanted to, they could Camp Half-Blood on the internet.

Do you really think that the gods would tighten the mist incredibly tightly so the two camps could never find eachother, yet allow a WEBSITE to reveal them?

Yes. Yes I do. And you know why? The Mist relies on the human's ability to be misdirected, however, the Mist is much less effective if you know what you are searching for. It's perfectly logical. In addition, Jeparo isn't going to let anyone at Camp know of the location of Camp Gladius other than himself, unless he dies, in which case he has a method of getting a series of passwords and encryption data to Chiron.

And you don't think Hephaestus, the god of technology, wouldn't have done anything to prevent it?
If so, think again.

I think that almost all of the preventative measures were designed to prevent the discovery that the other camp existed. If someone searching knows for a fact that another Camp exists, and is searching for the effects that he/she knows will surround said Camp, then he/she will be able to find it.
Summary: The gods have "sealed up" any information that will allow someone to find the other Camp without knowing of it's existence, but they have not "sealed up" the information that could be used to find the other Camp if someone already knew of it's existence.

That has nothing to do with what I said. Hephaestus would have taken steps to ensure no trace of Camp Gladius of CHB showed up online.

There are some things that you can't remove traces of without potentially endangering mortals. Would he remove those, too?

Pressure fronts, wind patterns caused by the microdimension that the Camp is stored in (and all of the air traveling in and out), as well as the steadily increasing economic system monetary offset if none of Camp Gladius's vegetable and fruit sales to mortals are recorded.

Those aren't harmful to mortals. And Camp Gladius doesn't sell to mortals. It grows food for itself only.

Besides, what do any of these have to do with the internet?

If mortals aren't aware of high and low-pressure fronts, then airplanes can't avoid turbulence in that area, which is dangerous. And Camp Half-Blood sells food to mortals, and so does Camp Gladius.
And the economic system offset can, over time, cause inflation to fluctuate.

Well, sure, it's slightly harmful, but barely.

Besides, as I said, WHAT DOES ANY OF THIS HAVE TO DO WITH INFO INVOLVING CG BEING ONLINE.

Still risky for mortals.

And the low-pressure fronts would be recorded online, in global weather trackers. And the food-selling would have to be recorded as an official business, or else it's food wouldn't be defined as "fit for consumption."
Oh, and also, he was looking for a farming company in California that, when scanned with Google Earth, didn't appear to have any farming ground.

Why would Camp Gladius have registered itself as a farming company!?

Face it, Zexion. There is no, NO hope of Jeparo finding Camp Gladius on the internet.

Because if they didn't, then their food wouldn't be authorized to sell, and their main source of income would break the law.

There is a hope, in fact there is more than a hope. Have you read Ender's Game? Remember Peter's extrapolation of military infantry movements from train schedules available online? It's the same principle.

THEY DON'T HAVE TO SELL THEIR FOOD TO THEMSELVES!

I have read Ender's Game. Ender's Game is set in the future, where technology is far more advanced then it is.
Besides, those have very little in common.

Jeparo cannot find out about Camp Gladius on the internet. There. Now, suck it up and deal with it.

They're selling food to other people, to obtain mortal money, which is used to pay for more varied foods.

Ender's Game is set in the future, but the information is already out there on the internet.

Can we please be logical about this? I recognize that you are effectively the GM of this game, but it is a free-form role playing game, and I would like some immediately applicable and specific logical reasons.

I AM being logical. Wouldn't Ceres and Roman-Hestia provide food? I'm sorry, but no. This makes no sense.

Canon states that Camp Half-Blood grows food, and sells some to mortals so that it can buy food that it doesn't grow. There is no reason for the gods to expend their power for something that can be accomplished by mortal means.

Well, he would find the location like this:
1. Run a macro on a site like this (http://www.cfbf.com/counties/index.cfm) to collect the names of all the farms in California.
2. Run a macro in on Google Earth to save satellite images of those locations onto the hard drive, then run through the images manually and delete those that have obvious farming grounds.
3. Run a downloaded script on Google Earth to show wind patterns, and look at the records for the various farms during the rainiest season of the year, scanning them at high speeds. If an area has atypical weather, then that's (probably) the location of Camp Gladius. This is completely logical, okay? :smallannoyed:

1. Macro. And lots of RAM.
2. He kept it running in the background.
3. Well, name something that Hephaestus/Vulcan could do specifically to stop this without preventing Camp Gladius from being able to sell their vegetables legally. Photoshop farming grounds into Google Earth?

What do you think it means so I can end my Princess Bride reference.

"A macro is a way to automate a task that you perform repeatedly or on a regular basis. It is a series of commands and actions that can be stored and run whenever you need to perform the task. You can record or build a macro, and then play the macro to automatically repeat the series of commands or actions."

So, a macro for the task you describe would be to run all sources of foodstuffs in California through a set of criteria until the list was narrowed down to Camp Gladius, correct?
