For the style-conscious BBEG of monetary and magical means, what are some 'household convenience and comfort' items - things like the Decanter of Endless Water without much direct combat usage, but which our villainess might have in her boudoir or lair or on her person? Decanter of Endless Water, things like that? (Likely things the PCs would just sell off if looted, but as an interesting way of fleshing out her lair, rather than just XdY Art Objects.)

Automatically resetting traps of create food/water (or heroes feast if you want to spend the money). Automatically resetting traps of produce flame for a fireplace. Automatically resetting traps of sleep in the bedroom. A lot of automatically resetting stuff, really.

also: this is how the tippyverse works.

EDIT: beware of how many of these you place, however. the create food/water trap costs a bit over 7k gp IIRC.

In one of the splat books I saw prices for magical paintings who's pigments would change depending on the time of day/season... I always thought those were cool.

As for useful household stuff... maybe a small cleaning construct, or warming/cooling stones to act as a space heater/AC unit.

You might give her a bunch of gizmos for various purposes that, together, amount to a at-will Prestdigitation (and thus would cost 1000 gp for the whole collection.) Of cours, you could just as easily give her a single presdigitation device, but it's more fun to hve the players find a whole assortment.

Examples:
A crystal rod with a red gem set in one end, a blue gem in the other. The red end heats up any food or drink it is placed in; the blue end cools food or drink.

An onyx-handed paintbrush which, oddly, rejects any paint you dip it in. However, if you touch the bristles to an object and think of a color or pattern, the brush will die the object according to your wishes.

A crystal sphere which, when touched, sends out small whirlwinds which dust and tidy the room.

Magical cosmetics! (:haley:)

A jar of potpourri that fills the room with scents of whatever nature and intensity the owner wishes.

Other items which duplicate more ambitious spells than Prestdigitation:
Wind chimes which, when touched or gently blown on, will play any music the activator desires. (Or will simply always play the villain's favorite music.)

Wine glasses which cast Charm Person, or even Suggestion, on anyone but the owner who drinks from them.

Some kind of climate control on the whole place.

Pet Stuff:
She could also have a pet or familiar which she dotes on, and own items devoted to the animal's comfort: A magically warmed dog bed, animated string for the cat to play with, a crystal which sings duets with the bird, etc.

The pet stuff could be a clue to an important fact. If they defeat the villain and thwart her plans, she'll be mad, but take it in stride. That's what happens when you're an evil mastermind: annoying heroes show up and wreck things. But if they mess with her pet, she'll be livid, and plot elaborate revenge.

Looks like you're playing 3.5 but it shouldn't be too hard to convert these that I just posted.
