It is probably in a bag of holding -- that much long hair would be worth plenty of gold to a wigmaker and if there is one thing haley doesnt do it is waste coin.

That's not the point!

More specifically, wasn't there any way of keeping more of it attached to Haley?

Yes a cartoon, but Woot! Enough red hair to wrap yourselves up in?

Dear Lord, why?

keep your hair lust out of this! :smalltongue:

But i cant really see a difference from the original except standard art upgrade (ala Haley's face strip one vs now)

Wel, you know. A Ponytail is easier to draw that Razpunzel's Hair, and is better giving a sensation of speed and movement that a fairy haircut.

But a beehive haircut could do the work too (thinking of Bayonetta)

Then reproduce asexually first, then go to awesome music concerts in outer space hosted by Elder Gods?

...now I'm picturing Cthulhu with a whole lot of red hair headbanging to metal. Great.

Yay for crappy haircut and not symbol of character growth. I really hated Haley with short hair. V looks better with long hair too. Long hair FTW!

Viva la longs cheveux rouges!

I am ecstatic abouthaley 's new hair style. Much, much better than the short tomboy hair cut.

I think it was an excuse for an art upgrade. Compare this (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0609.html) to the latest strip.

Less "art upgrade" and more "making Haley's new ponytail to have a slightly more distinguished look than the last one".

I think you guys are confused. The only difference in her ponytail in the latest comic is that it looks slightly unkempt due to being fresh-cut and Haley being in too much of a rush to do much to straighten it out.

Are there actual rules about tripping? Specifically on your own hair? I mean, this is a world where fat-ass dragons can fly (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0754.html) and a head band can have more defensive benefits than plate armor (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0675.html).

It's not unrealistic that female PC's can look good while adventuring (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0711.html).

I don't know about that. Haley's ponytail in the new poster resembles her hair in the latest strip much more than it does before Crystal cut it. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the raggedy look is here to stay.

Haley should make a wig for Durkon to show her newfound brother in faith some pity.

On the other hand, V's hair in the poster is clearly pre-Darth and I doubt she's even thought about altering it (it's the low Charisma, she has no head for tropes). So maybe it's a slight art upgrade for the poster like the seams on Haley's clothing and Durkon's armour.

Whoa there. DO keep in mind that, although the art style may not make it obvious, Haley DOES actually currently have hair that is nearly hip-long.

Technically, her hair is still way, way too long to be practical for an adventurer. I've had hair that long. Without being brushed several times a day (and that's with a normal person's, not an adventurer's, lifestyle) and being braided for sleep, it just becomes one huge tangle very quickly and very soon, and any heat just makes you want to stuff it all into hyperspace somewhere. (Do recall that hair and animals' FUR are made of the same material. XD)

You are right. I belive i feel the begginings of hairlust welling up in me as well.

Some awesome director needs to get Grace and Felicia Day and make a DnD movie where they are Sisters Fighter/mage combo!

It's a decorative poster, not an up-to-the-minute record of events. There's no significance to any of the choices made beyond what was the most recognizable look for the character. Elan's new clothes have surpassed his original outfit in familiarity, but V and Haley's haircuts and Redcloak's eyepatch and Roy's belt are all relatively recent events. They haven't lasted for a full book yet, so casual fans would be less likely to recognize them.

Also worth noting that the redesigns tend to come after we haven't seen the old design for a while (long series of Team Evil strips + injured Rich -> #198's overall OOTS redesign, Darth V -> ponytail V, break between books 4 & 5 -> Roy and Thog's armours now have an opening by the chest, Crystal's "haircut" -> current "upgraded" ponytail). As such, since it's been awhile since we have seen the Greenhilt sword, Roy's armour, and the front of Durkon's shield (I think #599 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0599.html) was the last time), I can see at least one of those working their way in.

Haley obviously enjoys th ponytail style and the only reason she got that much added on was to have one crazy night. That amount of hair was not practical and Haley knew it, probably planned on the style she would take before growing it in the first place. (and may I say, hair-growing potion? how convienient.)

On page 273 on the DMG 3.5 ed. If one rolls a 1-4 with percentile dice a "cursed" item makes the bearer's hair grow one inch. I figure they just applied that particular curse one hundred fold.

Whoa there. DO keep in mind that, although the art style may not make it obvious, Haley DOES actually currently have hair that is nearly hip-long.

On the other hand, it may seem so long only because of the art style. The head is very large, and the hair is more in proportion to the head than to the body.

Also, when Haley wore the hair open (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0386.html), it seemed somewhat shorter.
