He took an AK-47 out from under his hat, blew the bat-man away with a rata-tat-tat.

The book was... interesting, though.

Tim Burton is doing the movie, it may be good, if it doesn't fall into the Alice syndrome (great set up, horrible action filled ending.) But from what the book is, I doubt that it will be able to avoid it. Still, there will probably be some decent scenes. :smallwink:

Oh man, I can hear the stinger line on the movie trailers now.

"They seceded from the living - so Abe is raising the stakes..."

Anything that features Abe in impropable action hero roles is instantly awesome. Shun the skeptics!

What about Abe as a teenage boy living in the modern world (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clone_High)?

Hahaha oh man, that's possibly the best Abraham Lincoln pun ever. Thanks for that.

Yeah, who's that guy who did all the voiceovers for the movie trailers? I think he died recently. You know, the deep-voiced, overly-dramatic "in a world... blah blah blah" stuff?

I totally hear him saying that pun.

I'd rather see one on Washington, whose achievements involve being made out of radiation and making love like an eagle falling out of the sky. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbRom1Rz8OA)

Ahh, this turned me off it. I'll hold judgment until it comes out, but it's my firm belief that Burton is great when doing his own stuff, when using the works of someone else (Planet of the Apes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland) it is almost never good.

Eh, Washington (Washington, six foot twenty ****ing killing for fun!)'s glory is already well known. The guy is such a badass that he doesn't need a movie.

Lincoln, while also badass, is nowhere near Washington's level. He needs the movie more.

Anyone have any opinions on the book? It was recommended to me by my sister-in-law but I've yet to go out and purchase it.

RationalGoblin, in a world where voiceovers are thought to make good movie trailers, Don LaFontaine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_LaFontaine) had the vocal chords to rise to infamy. He was... the "In a world"-guy.

I knew it was Don something, but good to know his full name. Thanks.

I swear, if Tim Burton powders Abe's face there will be consequences.

JUST STOP IT.

Honestly? I had to double-check it via Google, myself. I was fairly sure it was something LaFontaine, but I couldn't remember whether it was "Ron" or "Don". Anyway, no problem.

This has so much potential for hilarity, both in a good way as well as a bad way.
