So last night I beat a dragon unconscious with a burnt up kobald corpse, what did you do?

While exploring a cave on a mission to save a bunch of orphans from an evil spider god, I was confronted with a sheer and perfectly smooth cliff face, which was covered in some type of grease. Between me and the cliff was a sheer drop of a depth I was unable to determine, and a width of about 50 feet. The sound of rushing water emanated from below. At the top of the cliff was a tunnel that lead further into the cave, and toward the kidnapped children. Climbing up the vertical surface would be impossible, so I leaped the gap to the cliff face, and punched my fist into the wall to create my own handhold. From there, I noticed a roper hanging from the roof of the tunnel above me.
If I tried climbing slowly, I would be unable to bypass the roper, and I certainly couldn't outgrapple one. And time was also a factor; if I was stalled for too long against this threat, the children would be killed and their souls sacrificed.
This left only one possible solution, that would enable me to fulfill my objective of saving the children. Jump up to the top of the cliff, and tumble quickly past the roper.
The dice gods favored me. A 20, a 20, and a 17 later (on top of my already enormous jump check bonuses) I was able to make the twenty foot leap that was required. After tumbling past the roper, it attempted to attack me, and all of its attacks miraculously failed. On the following turn, I attempted to bull rush it off the ceiling and over the cliff. A 20, a 20 and an 11 later, and it was struggling desperately to hold onto the cliff face. The roper uttered one final, frightened shriek as its grease-covered tentacles failed to find a hold, and it plunged into the raging waters 2000 feet below.
Without missing a beat, my level 6 character turned to the darkness and continued his quest.
This is one of many, many impossible challenges this character has managed to overcome. The vast majority of them, on his own. He's managed to survive soloquesting up to level 7 so far. Most of the encounters he's faced, have been overpowering or greater (considering he's usually by himself, the EL mechanic is out of whack anyway).

Last session, one of my players assasinated the prince regent of a powerful human nation, and then, one of my other players (Without knowing who killed the prince!) barely succeeded on a bluff check to convince the rest of the government that the prince left him the throne as his dying words. So, assuming they can beat the investigation into his death, they now own one of the most powerful countries in the world. At third level (Don't worry, I have a way to limit the power they actually get from it, it just means they can fight more wars and get money from taxation.)
