Hey guys. I'd like to make a flying swarm of these thingies:

Animated Object, Tiny CR 0
Always Neutral Tiny Construct
Init +2
AC 14 FF 12 Touch 14
(+2 size, +2 Dex)
HD: 1
HP: 5 (1d10+0)
Fort +0 Ref +2 Will -5
Speed 40 ft. (8 squares); 50 ft. legs, 60 ft. multiple legs; 80 ft. wheels
Base Atk +0 Grp -9
Attack: Slam +1 1d3-1
Full Attack: Slam +1 1d3-1
Space 2.5 ft. (0 squares) Reach 0 ft. (0 squares)
Abilities Str 8(-1) Dex 14(+2) Con -- Int -- Wis 1(-5) Cha 1(-5)
Gear:
Total Cost of Gear: 0gp
Construct traits(Ex):
Darkvision(Ex): 60 ft.
Low-light vision; also see text(Ex)

But to my knowledge there is no template for this or directions, how to make it. Help? :smallamused:

Also: Does animated object work in AMF? Like construct? Because I would like to cast AMF on these guys and still have them operating.

The "nanobots" CharOP build was based on the assumption that Animated Objects could be downsized all the way to Fine- losing the ability to damage, but retaining the ability to make Aid Another checks

(if you have that PRC that grants everyone near you the ability to make Aid Another checks for practically anything).

So there is precedent for the idea of really tiny Animated Objects.

Ok ...

So we take small ... construct? Or aniamted object? I really want it to do some dmg.

Probably use the Size rules in MM (normally used for increasing the size of a creature) to extrapolate what the stats of a decreased-size creature (Animated Object in this case) would be.

Then, look at the Swarm stats in MM, compare to an existing non-swarm animal that can be part of a Swarm (a rat?) and use this as a starting point to stat out your swarm.

Swarms (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/typesSubtypes.htm#swarmSubtype) deal damage based on how many hit dice they have. What's your target CR? You can eyeball it from there.

HD as many as possible - epic lvl CR.

This baby should also have:
fly X ft. (perfect) (Ex) - small wings
blindsight 500 ft (Ex)
AMF (CL 20) - at will

Point is, that it is able to detect invisible targets (500 feet), does not take blast-spell dmg (AMF), is not threatened by PaO (swarm), is able to encase an enemy in AMF (after his contingencies run out), banishes all summons, engages with anything Gated in in a non-magic evniroment (AMF) and is able to regenerate AMF at will if disjuncted.

Well, if it's epic, take a look at ruin swarms (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/monsters/ruinSwarm.htm). CR 23, but with 50 HD.

How on earth does one beat that thing, though?

There were rules for 'Hoards' (edit: 'Hordes'? spellcheck...) in WLD, which are basically swarms of medium or larger creatures - so there should be rules for swarms somewhere.

In Soviet Russia, monster beat you!

Make sure to say that if it ends up a TPK.

Brood Keeper's Heart soulmeld (Dragon Magazine 350, pg 86) bound to your Heart chakra (Ironsoul Forgemaster 10, Incarnate 16, Totemist 17, Necrocarnate 11, or the Epic level Open Heart Chakra feat) gives you the Swarm template. Soulmelds do NOT function in anti-magic fields though.

Contruct type can be gained various ways.

Put them together, and you get your desired result.

Effigies don't have constitution scores, do they?

Hmm.. Epic level Warforged?

21+ HD Dragon with the Shape Soulmeld (Brood Keeper's Heart) and Open Heart Chakra?

... Swarm dragon would be scary business...

I think it was the first issue of Dragon magazine Paizo published in the 3.5 era that had stats for a Construct Swarm. Basically it was a collection of diminutive toy-soldier-like constructs that could disassemble mechanical items.

For the purposes you're describing, if you can get access to it check out the Creature Swarm template from the Advanced Bestiary published by Green Ronin. http://www.greenronin.com/store/product/grr1601e.html It's a pretty awesome book all alone, and that template is just made for fun. You can design the normal version of your construct, then apply the creature swarm template and most likely achieve your goals.

Good luck! :)

The Paizo module "Seven Swords of Sin" has a construct swarm. It has the ability, among other things, to take over bodies.

Shredstorm (MM3) is a construct swarm... 14HD, 3d6 damage + 2d6 electricity.
