Anyone know where I can find stats for a Zebra? I know it's an odd question and the reason I'm asking doesn't make it any less odd. I want to know so I can use the stats to help inform the creation of a Herd Dragon.

I dont think that it should get a hide bonus, It's black and white in an yellowish-greenish enviroment.

Others believe that the stripes act as a camouflage mechanism. This is accomplished in several ways. First, the vertical striping helps the zebra hide in grass. While seeming absurd at first glance, considering that grass is neither white nor black, it is supposed to be effective against the zebra's main predator, the lion, which is color blind. Theoretically, a zebra standing still in tall grass may not be noticed at all by a lion.

Or is that what they want us to think?

Why does a Herd Dragon need Zebra stats?
To what ends have you selected Zebras?
If it is for mounts, use ponies.
If it is for hiding from Lions, use ponies with a hide bonus.
If it is to terrify Octopi (http://www.odd-fish.net/viewing.php?comic_id=161)I recommend giving an intimidate bonus.

Someone mentioned that they have a bonus to AC depending on the number of other Zebras around them which is what i'm looking to emulate with the Herd Dragon, which needs a better name but that's for a later thought process. However, when I went to look-up the stats for a Zebra, i could not find them and was hoping someone would know where to find them.....since my main goal is to find a mechanic for an AC bonus, does anyone know where I might find such a thing.

I'd recommend slightly altered mule (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Mule) stats, actually - zebras are insanely strong and they hit really hard with those little hooves of theirs. You set the speed to 50 ft. and add a bite as a secondary attack, then you give it a "+4 racial bonus on Hide checks in areas of tall grass or heavy underground", such as a hyena (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Hyena) has it, perhaps with the addendum that "this bonus only applies when the zebra is not currently moving / positioned among a group of at least six other zebras / only against creatures who lack the ability to distinguish colors" / any combination of those. That captures that whole zebra experience nicely, I think.

Mule stats are closer.

No hide bonus. The stripes are not for blending into the grass. They are a herd animal. the stripes are for blending into each other. Rewatch animal planet.

Which is why I had included "positioned among a group of at least six other zebras" among the options for Hide bonus conditions.
