So I found a homembrew weapon that had an interesting weapon material: Refined Thinaun. It acted like a normal Thinaun weapon, but it could have an unlimited number of souls. I was thinking of stating out Refined Thinaun, and had no idea what to price it at. Double the cost of regular Thinaun?

Thinaun is from Complete Warrior page 136-137. See summary here: http://www.imarvintpa.com/dndlive/Glossarys.php?ID=335. Basically, it sucks the soul from anyone killed by the weapon and captures it in the weapon.

The aforementioned weapon is an Artifact not merely some magical weapon. As for refined thinaun, it should be a lot more expensive than double the cost if you are refining it for the sole purpose of allowing unlimited souls to be captured. 100 TIMES more expensive isn't unreasonable.

Maybe not unlimited then, but more than just one, maybe about five souls for twice the price.
