View Full Version : Divine help (pathfinder)

2010-11-15, 10:38 PM
I was invited to a game that will be starting soon and I decided to play a Cleric or I think it was called Inquisitor (divine-sneak what ever it was). Now I have never played pathfinder before and I am not familiar with feats and the other options available to me. I would prefer the divine-sneaky but I can live with just plain cleric if that sort of thing is just a waste of time.

If anyone can help it would be great. Spell recommendations would also help.

(Build up to lvl 20 if you don't mind)

P.S. I have all books open.

Have you read the basic Pathfinder books? Its Wiki is open source... here's the one I use: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/

Inquisitor (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/inquisitor) and Cleric (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/cleric) are two completely different classes.
I think you're wanting Inquisitor.

With Pathfinder, their classes were created with the intent that going straight 20 is a viable option. It should also be noted that all skills are bought 1 for 1. Be they class or cross class skills. (The difference being that any class skills get a bonus +3 on checks).

I personally haven't gotten a chance to look into the advanced core classes, so I can't give you a build; I just wanted to make sure you knew the difference between the classes and PF vs 3.5.

What do you mean by "All books are open"? All Pathfinder books, or all Pathfinder+3.5 materials?

As far as a build goes, I'm fond of Cloistered Clerics, from Unearthed Arcana, for my sneaky divine types. If you go Elf or Half-Elf (which can work in Pathfinder) then finish off with Seeker of the Misty Isle from Complete Divine. Note that according to the text (which trumps the table) it is a full casting advancement class.

I meant pathfinder, but he might allow a few bits from 3.5.

I cant give you a build but i can talk about the Inqusitor.

It seems to self buff really well and i the APg they introduced something called Teamwork feats. However the inquisotor gets the ability to treat any adjacent ally as having those Feats witht he ability to change their most recent bons feat to any other Teamwork feat they qualify for. Gives them alot of Adaptability.

Our level 6 Group faught a level 7 inquisotr and she was quite hard, self buffed her Ac high and was set up for a really high CMD/CMB and could change her teamwork feats to fit changing tactics.

I would however really recomend reading them through fully to understand how the Judgements and other things work. One thing that will be needed for others if they wish to help you is to know what God your char will worship Or what Domains you will ahve availbile for your single Domain.

Don't forget the Oracle as a choice.

They are all Divine classes.
