Slums

Kratos looks at the librarian's home.

"Ares has got her swords... we could take her if we need to. lets go!" He darts off towards the woods, following her scent.

*the llama takes off after him* "We'll find her and get her someplace safe!"

Ares leaves the house, with the Librarian's swords strapped to his side.

[Renrik]

The goblins in the area are stepping up patrols, and making reinforcing the barricades. Weapon hoarding and production has increased.

[Renegade Paladin]

Gaheris emerged into the alley behind his safehouse and pulled his hood up around his head.

He dodged the goblins patrolling about like they owned the place as he made his way up towards the rest of Town.

[Renrik]

((Heh. they pretty much do own a good chunk of the place, and the rest of it is heavily influenced by them. In effect, they've put about half the slum under martial law.))

[Renegade Paladin]

[ And if Gaheris didn't have bigger things on his plate, he'd get around to some fairly strenuous objecting. :smalltongue:]

((But they're DM licensed! They have meaning now.))

Some of the goblins are painting a mural on the side of one of the older buildings depicting the events of the Riot Day and commemorating the leaders of that rebellion.

On a different building, a goblin is putting the finishing touches on a mural paying tribute to Deadeye, the founder of the GSA and one of the aforementioned leaders of the Riot Day rebellion, and to the GSA members since him.

In fact, there are a lot of murals in the slums, most of them commemorative of various dead goblinoids.

A couple skeletons wrapped entirely in black rags look down upon the goblins from their hiding places.

the goblins remain oblivious to them.

One of them nods to the other and silently drops to the ground behind a group of goblins, a rusty sword in one hand. It sneaks up behind them and raises the sword...

[Renrik]

One of the "beggars" across the street shouts a cry of wearning to his comrades, and draws a knife. The goblin being snuck up onturns around quickly, his hand on the hilt on his own knife. His comrades draw an assortment of weapons.

[Destro_Yersul]

And the skeleton brings the sword down towards the head of the goblin being snuck up on. The skeleton on the roof flings several razor-edged metal disks at the goblin who raised the alarm.

John Gibson Foster trudges through the slums, wondering what made him come to this place anyway. One of the strengths of Seattle was that he knew the city. He knew the hiding places and the ambush spots and the graft.
He didn't know anything here. He was a seven-foot-two, gun-toting infant.
He knows one thing, though, looking up at his surroundings; a shadow jumping off a roof and attacking a little green thing painting a mural is bad. Chances were, the attack was wrong. Switching his cybereyes to night-vision, he tucks himseld into a roll and brings his left-holster Ares Predator to bear as he stands, figuring the magic of the Shamanic totem, in gun form, might be useful against skeletons. He'd seen weirder things than living bones, and the thought of life after death, even as one of those things, was kinda comforting.

Meanwhile, an android had cornered an innocent civilian in an alley in a relatively ignored part of the slums. With nowhere to run, the person's fate was sealed. Several loud gunshots later, a content android left the alley with its handguns with smoke wafting out from the barrels. It stood in place, as if waiting for something or someone. Not even bothering to avoid potential incarceration.

The android grows bored and heads toward the police station.(leaves)

The skeleton on the roof, sensing danger, throws a flurry of the razor disks at John Foster.

[Reptilus]

The plastic plating underneath Foster's skin ensures the blades are nothing more than flesh wounds. Using his smartlink computer to target the source of the blades, Foster sends a series of bullets in that direction.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames appears in the alleyway with the shot NPC. He raises the NPC, then escorts him home before disappearing again.

[Destro_Yersul]

By the time the bullets reach their destination the intended target is no longer there. Skeletal hands drive a sword towards Foster's back.

[Reptilus]

Walking into the slums to claim a small chunk of land for his detective agency, Snake noticies a faint trail of blood and follows it to the well-lit home of an NPC. Knocking at the door, he explains what he's found. Embarassed, the NPC explains his situation.
"An android, huh? It won't be the first robot I've fought. I'll look into it as soon as I can."
"I'm not asking you to," the NPC protested.
"I'm deciding to," SNake countered.

[hr]

Foster waits until the last second lowering himself slightly, imperceptibly, and rising on the balls of his feet. As the sword grows too near him, he leaps in the air above its path and spins his body around to execute a crude and untrained, but bluntly powerful kick at the skeleton's head.

[Destro_Yersul]

The kick connects, and the skeleton staggers backward. It snaps its head back into place with one hand while dropping to a combat stance and holding its sword with the other.

[Reptilus]

"Can ya talk?" Foster asks in a deep, booming voice. "What's goin' on here?"

[Destro_Yersul]

The skeleton can speak, though how it does so is not apparent. Its voice is low and rasping, with no emotion to it. revenge...

[Reptilus]

"Guess I shouldn't be so quick to cut in, if these goblins did something to you, first. Sorry, I'll be going, leave you all to your business?" Foster asks, making sure he gets an affirmation that he may leave before lowering his gun or letting his guard down.

[Destro_Yersul]

revenge... The skeleton flips backwards, back up to the rooftops.

[Reptilus]

"Well, that was a couple hundred percent of my daily dose of crazy," Foster says, sprinting out of the slums to find someone who could tell him just what was going on.

[Renrik]

The goblins regrouped during the aforementioned fight, and a patrol of GSA guards appeared.

The goblins (eight thereof) approach the building the skeleton is perched on, some (four) aiming slings at the roof while others (4), close in on the building with morningstars.

[Penguinizer]

There is a brief flash of light over on a roof top of one of the buildings.

A figure in a cloak appears and mutters something about "being diverted"

He then proceeds to jump down from the roof and wonders why is there a war being fought on the street.

[Renrik]

A pair of goblins, apparently beggars but for the concealed knives they carry, bar the cloaked figure's way.

You don;t want to go there, sir. Trust us. The patrols have found some assassins, and they're dangerous. I'd advise you ta stay clear.

[Penguinizer]

" I understand" says the figure.

He continues walks in the other direction, raising his hand above his head and turning into a bird to examine the situation from above.

[Gemini]

Gemini walks into the slum area and tells people of his newly founded guild. "Join Heaven's Exiles, come one, come all. We are in curent need of new members. Join Heaven's Exiles, the mercenarie's guild." Gemini takes out his sword and swings it out in the air.

[Reptilus]

"Careful with that thing, you might hurt somebody," Snake says condescendinly to Gemini, dragging a desk behind him through the slums as he walks.
He returns a few minutes later, sans desk, and heads out of the slums in the direction of the police station, strange goggles on his face.

The skeleton on the rooftop flings more razordisks, this time at the goblins with slings. The one attacking a goblin with its sword continues to do so.

[Xerillum]

A posse of snipers hides in the street trash and fires poisoned arrows at the goblins.

[Reptilus]

A mildly amused Plasma Snake returns to the slums, starting to walk towards his office as he sees and arrow fly out in front of him towards a little, humanoid creature.
Turning to the pile of trash from which the arrow originated, Snake draws his SOCOM pistol and fires seven silenced shots into the garbage heap, then uses his telekinesis to stop the arrow from striking the goblin.
Kicking the trash away with one foot while keeping his pistol trained on the pile, Reptilus prepares to question the attacker, if he survived.

[Xerillum]

the snipers teleport to the roof of a nearby building.

((Um, nevermind, I read that as "The one you shot." Now, it makes much more sense. I was wondering how a dead dwarf got embedded in a wall! ;] ))

Hawk crawls out of the tunnels and prepaires for a fight

Iames climbs out of the tunnels after Hawk.

[TheHawk]

Hawk leaps forwards as Iames climbs out, meaning to hit him with the pummel of his sword and knock him out.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames takes the hit, but is not knocked out. He counters with a punch to the Hawk's stomach.

[TheHawk]

Grunts and falls back.

Other Hawk teleports behind Hawk and swings his sword, aiming to kill. Hawk seems oblivious

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames targets the other Hawk with three psionic dominates at once, all at fullly augmented power. If even one of them succeeds, the other Hawk is ordered not to attack the Hawk.

[TheHawk]

Other Hawk falls back and Hawk turns around. Other hawk reaches out and grabs hawk and teleports both of them away.

Iames swears and disappears.

[Lord Magtok]

Meanwhile, an android and a human are fighting hundreds of feet in the air. They both struggle to shoot the other, but all their pistols are dropped near Plasma Snake.
Because of this, they are forced to go at it in melee combat.
After several minutes of ridiculous loops, spins, and turns, the human is dropped about 200 ft.
((Plasme Snake, this might be a good time to mess with ESARS.))

[Lord Magtok]

((I've waited half an hour. Since no one's awake and interfering, I'll narrate the battle between ESARS and SAS.))
After falling 180 ft.,((Do the math yourself)) ESARS kicks SAS into a nearby wall.
SAS kicks off the wall, and nails ESARS by grabbing his foot while midair, and slamming the android itno the ground.
In retaliation, ESARS zooms towards him with the jet pack.
SAS grabs ESARS by the arms, and flips him around, smashing him once again into the ground.
ESARS dusts himself off, and is completely unharmed. He leaps/flies over to a rooftop about 3 stories high. With an incredible leap, SAS lands next to him.

[Reptilus]

Plasma Snake picks up the fallen pistols and uses his stealth suit to watch the battle and draws his Stinger missile launcher, awaiting a clear shot at the robot so that the human won't be destroyed by the immensely powerful, auto-locking missile.

((So, um, we'll just say I wait unseen until I get back on tomorrow. Sorry about running off with no warning.))

At the corner of a roof on one of the nearby buildings (one without goblins, skeletons or dwarves) a cloaked figure appears, seemingly turning into himself from a bird.

He then continues to keep and eye on the situation.

After this. He jumps down from the roof and calmy climbs back into the tunnels.

[Renrik]

Due to the incursion of both skeletal and dwarven forces, additional GSA patrols are called in, and immediately begin searching the area, in groups of four, for the infiltrators. The "beggars" help them, pointing out area where the infiltrators were sighed, and remaining vigilant. The GSA snipers in the area are on alert.

[Lord Magtok]

From the rooftop, the two continue their bloody melee combat. A flurry of punchs and kicks are exchanged, with neither side seeming to overwhelm the other.
ESARs engages his jet pack, and attempts a flying kick.

The kick connects, and SAS is sent flying backwards off the rooftop. He slams his back into a brick wall, smashing it to bits, and he falls inside the building.
Despite this, SAS wipes the blood off his face, and charges back into battle.
He reaches the rooftop again, and finds ESARS waiting for him there.
ESARS grabs for SAS, and catches his neck.
He starts to squeeze slowly, taunting his nemesis as he strangles the agent to death.

Just as the last bit of air starts to escape SAS's lungs, the agent notices Plasma Snake with a heat detecting moduke built into his white lens.
Forget about me! TAKE THE SHOT!

[Reptilus]

Snake makes an unhappy face, nods, and fires the shot, the missile having had more than enough time to lock on.
Just to be certain, he fires another missile soon after it, finishing off the double-missile load it carries before needing to reload. The fly towards the robot, designed to seek their target whiel avoiding obstacles with a lock-on technology patterned after machines, rather than heat, striking at the most deadly places it can find with a quick computer analysis.

[Lord Magtok]

The building the two were standing on is reduced to rubble.

The android is found deactive and cut deeply, but not destroyed. Because of the blast, the hologram machine is randomly traveling through the android's history. The name Iames is uttered once.
However, the agent is dying, and tells Plasma Snake not to worry, as what was done had to be done.

((Also, SAS can't be brought back to life by magic. Instead, he is warped back to his dimension, fully healed, but gone from the town. Not that anyone knows. His "corpse" would just disappear. Also, ESARS records everything. Just so you know.
Looks like you (Reptilus) are headed for a court case. Might wanna hire a lawyer. I hear Wukei is competent.(Should be an easy case to defend.) ))

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames appears. Oh, great. He looks around for who could have destroyed the building.

[Lord Magtok]

Secret Agent Stick is suddenly fully healed, and warped back to his home dimension. ESARS is still lying inactive and partially covered in rubble.

[Gemini]

((You know half of the slums are destroyed, right? Is anyone rebuilding them? Just wondering.))

[Lord Iames Osari]

((Oh, yes, they're being rebuilt. I expect the town has some kind of emergency relief program. I mean, given the frequency of emergencies, it must.)) Seeing noone else around, Iames grabs ESARS and teleports him to the station.

[McBish]

Nimh walks out of the slums and towards Trog's.

[Lord Magtok]

ESARS returns, about 800ft. from the crime scene. He checks the area with a variety of sensors in search of his pistols. The thermal scan reveals Reptilus, and the guns he holds.

Seething with rage, ESARS activates a homing device in his hands. The android retakes his guns, (unless Plasma Snake wants to fly with them.)

ESARS then leaves the area as swiftly as he came, remaining well out of sight at his altitude.

[Lord Magtok]

The android fires at Iames as he jets across the slums, hoping it will slow him down.
Keeping up? Pretty good for a meatbag. Let's see you do this.
Next, the android smashes straight through the ground and into the tunnels.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames smirks. You have no idea what I'm capable of, construct. Iames teleports to the hole made by ESARS and slides down the side. His eyes flash as he divides his aspects.

[Reptilus]

Letting the android's guns go, Snake grimaces at the property damage the massive missiles caused and converts himself to a psionic essence to follow the android at speeds unbound by air resistance and other such petty laws of motion. He'll try and move ahead of the android and head him off before returning to his corpreal form. Then it's time to show what he can do without using his guns.

[Destro_Yersul]

The skeletons press their attack on the goblins, hurling razor disks from hiding and then jumping to somewhere else.

[Renegade Paladin]

Gaheris entered the slums and stuck to alleyways, relying on the enchantments of his armor to keep him hidden, just one shadow among many in the unlit alleyways. He came up to his safehouse and, after his usual routine of checking the place for intruders and ensuring that the odds and ends he left in particular places to alert him if they'd been searched had not moved, he set the usual wards and alarms, stripped himself of his armor and equipment, and laid down to sleep, sword, as always, within easy reach.

[Deadly]

Aeri wanders into the slums and looks around. Her eyes narrow as she walks the dark, narrow alleys, searching the shadows around her.

[The_Librarian]

The librarian returns to her home with Kratos having hervously assumed his elfish shape to accompany her. She darts into the house quickly, keeping the door open just long enough for Kratos to follow.

[Deadly]

Aeri stops outside a small house and looks carefully through a window. She frowns and continues her walk through the slums, as if following a trail, though she never seems to get too far from Libris' house.

[McBish]

Nimh watchs Aeri with intrest trying his best to stay hidden.

[Deadly]

Aeri stops, thinking she saw something, and turns to try and spot it.

((Spot would be one of her best skills, as she's trained to hunt people who like to hide a lot :)))

[McBish]

((I figured and no ranks in Hide makes it hard.))

Guessing he has been spoted Nimh steps out into the street. Still in hybrid form. Hello.

[The_Librarian]

The librarian leaves her home with the cub, but Kratos stops and sniffs the air.

"Okay, cub?" the librarian asks.

"I don't want to stay here," he whines nervously. The librarian nods tightly and the pair make their way away from the house.

[Deadly]

Aeri looks at Nimh and nods a bit Greetings. Might I ask why you were trying to hide? she asks, not sounding hostile, just cautious

[McBish]

I was spying for spies. I was wondering what you were doing.

[Deadly]

I'm hunting a murderer who seems to like this part of Town a lot.

[McBish]

Nimh tilts his head, Would he have a special realitionship with rats?

[Deadly]

She raises an eyebrow Rats? Well, not his usual choice, but I guess he would use what's available and slums have plenty of rats.

[McBish]

I ask because I am searching for someone who has been using rats to spy on someone.

[Deadly]

Ah. Who would that be?

[McBish]

The person doing the watching, I don't know. The lady being watched is a half-dragon that lives in these parts.

[Deadly]

Aeri smiles Would she by any chance be a paladin who goes by the name Libris?

[McBish]

I never did get her name, but I do belive she is a paladin. Do you know her?

[Deadly]

She nods If we think of the same, then yes. I am here to hunt down the man who have been trying to kill her.

[Renrik]

The razor disks down a goblin and wound two more.

The goblins launch a hail of slingstones at the skeletons, and send volunteers weilding morningstars scrambling up the sides of the buildings to catch the infiltrators.

Meanwhile, the groups of goblins hunting the dwarven infiltratrators continuwe their search.

[McBish]

Well, I must say I haven't found much to find him. All I have is a rat that I think is connected to him some how. He holds up a bag with a rat inside.

[Deadly]

He can be rather tricky to find. Can I see the rat?

[McBish]

Sure I haven't had a lot of time to try and talk to him yet. He hands the bag with the rat to her.

[Deadly]

She looks inside the bag, careful not to let the rat escape That's no ordinary rat. That's a moonrat. We have a lot of them in the northern regions where I come from. Small devils.

[McBish]

I see, I thought something was odd about him. Most rats don't know that many curses. He grins a bit.

[Deadly]

She smiles and nods I can imagine that. she says and sticks her hands down the bag and pulls the rat out. He doesn't seem too lively now, though. I guess being trapped in a bag will do that.

[McBish]

I gave him some food so he didn't starve.

[Deadly]

She nods and shakes the rat a bit. It wakes up with a start "Argh! Stop that!" it curses Sorry, I don't think so. We want answers first.

[McBish]

Nimh stands back and watchs.

[Deadly]

The rat curses some more. Aeri sighs and looks at it So, I hear you have been spying on people. Why?

"I just do what I'm told. If I'm told to spy on someone I do so."

And who tells you what to do?

"The master. Don't know his name."

Aeri frowns

[McBish]

Where did you get your instructions?

[Deadly]

"In my mind." the rat bites Aeri but she just shrugs it off I don't think we'll get much out of this one. Lowly minions rarely know much.

[McBish]

To bad. I was hoping he would know more.

[Deadly]

She shrugs I think, together with Libris, we might know more than this rat could ever tell us. Libris mentioned some house here in the slums earlier where she thinks our target might be, or have been for a time atleast.

[McBish]

Ok. Want to check it out?

[Deadly]

She puts the rat back in the bag and hands it to him If I knew where it was. She disappeared before telling me.

[McBish]

Well I don't know where it would be. He pauses Do you think it would hurt if I let him, he holds up the bag with the moonrat, out.

[Deadly]

She shakes her head Do what you wish with him. I doubt he can cause much harm - there's likely a thousand like him in this place, one more or less won't make a difference.

[McBish]

Nimh dumps the rat on the ground.

[Deadly]

The rat spits on them both before running off as fast as it's tiny legs can handle. Aeri shakes her head I guess I should be used to that.

[McBish]

You get spit at a lot?

[Deadly]

No, not a lot, but similar things. Sometimes much worse things. she sighs

[McBish]

Yes, I can understand that, try being a wererat.

[Deadly]

Yes, I imagine wererats are not generally welcomed with open arms. she rubs her neck

[McBish]

No, not really, but most of them deserve their reputation.

[Deadly]

She nods and winces a bit before sighing Unfortunatly that can be said about many, not just wererats.

[McBish]

Nimh raises an eyebrow. You sound like you have some experiance with that.
((15 minute warning.))

[Deadly]

You could say that. she sighs But that is not important now. I guess I should keep searching.

[McBish]

Well I wish you luck, I'll keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

[Deadly]

She nods and bows slightly Good idea. Take care.

She heads down the alley and disappears deeper into the slums

Nimh heads up onto a roof top and sits meditating.

[blackout]

Nukular runs, jumps, and flies through the slums, trying to lose the mutt. Ohcrapohcrapohcrapohcrap, runningrunningrunningrunning!

[McBish]

Hey you stop where you are. I hate it when they run. The mutt keeps running after him.

[blackout]

He stops in midair, and immediately arms all of his weapons, aiming at the mutt. You got five minutes, back away.

[McBish]

The mutt stops. Ok listen. You don't want to do that. You'll be adding murder to your list of charges and Iames will just bring me back to life anyway. So why don't you lower those weapons and we can go to the the station peacefully.

[blackout]

-_- Wow. The police actually DO something around here. Odd, there doesn't seem to be many of you.

[McBish]

Yeah so why don't you come peacefully and then I can get back to tracking the murderer I was after before you started blowing stuff up.

Hey, THEIR the ones that didn't open the door.

[McBish]

And what about those other explosions I saw as you were chasing them? And then the wall at Inari's? Listen just come in peacefully, it will all be ok.

Yeah, right. From what I've seen of all the other towns I've been to, you'll either A, sentence me to death right off the bat, B, charge me an insane sum of money to keep me out of jail, or C, put me in your city militia to pay off my so-called debt to this makeshift society.

[McBish]

Well actually you'll just have to spend some time in jail and then go to court. You can pay bail if you don't want to spend time in jail. And we don't have the death pently or a city militia.

[blackout]

Ok, that's an absolute joke. No death penalty?

[McBish]

Well none that I know of. There might be in certain cases but not for vandalism. Acctually I think you just have to clean up what you did.

[blackout]

How much for bail?

[McBish]

Um... I think it is 200 gp for each charge. Since you destroyed 3 things 600 gp. You will also probably have to clean/fix up the damage.

[blackout]

....Where can I get robotic drones to repair and clean up the damages?

[McBish]

I have no idea. I don't think there are any in this town.

((XD Ah, lame joke, but funny.))

Your certain? Not say, oh, some sort of omnishop that sells what you need when you need it?

Not that I know of. So are you going to come peacefully? ((Sorry mutt has never been there.))

...Fine. But let me look around town, I know I saw SOMETHING that probably had some kind of inventory with alot of stuff to sell. Chances are, however slim, they'll have what I need.

Why don't you come and pay bail first.

Fine. He then muttered something unrepeatable.

[McBish]

Right then, please follow me. The mutt leads him towards the police station.

Gregor walks through the slums cautiously. He stops to talk to an NPC and moves on, investigating the various run down houses.

After a while he heads out of the slums.

[Destro_Yersul]

The skeletons block some of the stones with their swords, and dogde a couple more, but the remainder punch through bones. They melt into the shadows, running, dodging, and occasionily flinging more disks at goblins.

[Renrik]

The goblins give chase, running after the skeletons in three squads of four, while the remainder are either wounded or are evacuating the wounded.

[Destro_Yersul]

When the skeletons see their pursuers one of them drops into an alley from the rooftop. The other leaps across the alley and turns around. Then the one that dropped into the alley steps out rightin front of the goblins, sword drawn. It swings at one, counting on momentum to assist the attack.

[Dark_Wind]

Dougal's short, dark figure flits from shadow to shadow through the slums, appearing more or less at home in this place. Coming to the fight between the goblins and skeletons, he hides himself in an alley and stops to watch.

Gemini walks to the heart of the slums. Holding up his hand in the air, then retracting it. Looking up at the same place where he had severed his bond from his god. "Ah, it's become a mere dot now." The sky had turned normal for the exeption of a little dot in the sky that signaled the severed bond. It had remained a dark, purple color. Gemini starts to make his way out of the slums. He then comes across a battle between goblins and skeletons. Taking out his sword he waits and watches.

[Dark_Wind]

Dougal notes with apparent disinterest, and does not rouse himself from his hiding place inititally. Eventually, he rises, steps from the shadow, turns to the stranger, and asks, "What are you doing, just standing there in the open watching?"

[Gemini]

Gemini hears the unseen man. "He, heheheheheheh... I want to see, observe them. Why? Do you enjoy slaughter? I would like to see if I am their target. If not, then I shall procced."

[Dark_Wind]

Dougal regards Gemini a moment, and says softly, "I observe to see who is the stronger. I wish to find out more about this Town. Oftimes, the more interesting events occur in the poorer districts. But, pray tell, where will you proceed to if you are not assailed?"

[Gemini]

Gemini smirks, ignoring the previous battle, then assuming a battle stance. "Why? Who would dare assail me? I think not."

[Dark_Wind]

Dougal leaps back, Windfall appearing in his right hand, a roughly sword shaped beam of energy. Holding his mindblade in guard position, he says quickly, "You misunderstand me, sir. You said that you watched this battle to determine whether you were their target, and would proceed if you were not. I merely wish to know to where you are heading. I did not mean to imply any threat against you. I've no wish to fight." He watches Gemini intently.

[Gemini]

Gemini smirks. "Alas, I do not wish to tell you where I am going, you must follow me." Gemini dashes the other way, out of the slums.

[Dark_Wind]

Dougal reliqueshes Windfall and runs after Gemini with a preternatural quickness, cursing under his breathe. Bloody nutjob, this one is. Got to follow him, though. He has me intrigued.

[Gemini]

Gemini runs faster, then starting to use his godlike energy, glowing white. He then runs between numerous buildings ending up in the main streets. His white glow starts to fade but keeps running. "Comeon, am I too fast for you? Weren't you the one who was going to assail me?" A doppelganger of Gemini jumps out of an alleyway in front of Dougal, sword drawn.

[Dark_Wind]

Dougal sees the doppleganger and curse loudly. "You arrogant...! All right, if it's a fight you want..." Reaching into a belt pouch, Dougal pulls out a small, black powder bomb, lights it and throws it at the double with one fluid motion, and then vanishes.

[Gemini]

The doppelganger laughs, then disappears.

[Renegade Paladin]

Gaheris emerged from his safehouse and proceeded up into the Town.

[Dark_Wind]

Dougal reappears just behind the dopplganger as it's dissappearing, Windfall in hand. He lowers his mindblade when he sees it vanish. He pauses slightly, curses again, and runs off in the direction he last saw Gemini running, toward the main streets.

[Renrik]

The goblin the skeleton swung at goes down, severly wounded. The three behind him press the attack with their morningstars and clubs.

The other eight goblins searching for the skeletons hear the battle cry given by their comrades, and come running from seperate directions to try to flank the infiltrators and trap them.

[Destro_Yersul]

The skeleton being attacked blocks two attacks and gets hit by one, which cracks a few ribs. It does a flip over the goblins heads and spins, before stabbing at another goblin. The one on the roof draws a bow and sends and arrow at one of the new goblins.

[Renrik]

The goblin that got stabbed at during the flip manages to duck, but the goblin that got shot at is hit in the hip, and begins to drag himself off to the side of the street.

The remaining ten goblins spring into action. Five attempt to surround and kill the skeleton that flipped while the other five attack the skeleton on the roof, three dropping their maces and using slings while the other two scurry forwards and try to climb the walls up to the roof.

The surrounded skeleton spins, slashing in every direction at once. This is not conducive to blocking, and it gets hit several times. The skeleton on the roof flattens itself against the roof and the sling bullets fly over its head. It crawls backwards and draws the bowstring taut, ready to shoot the first goblin that shows its face over the edge of the roof.

[Renrik]

The goblins surrounding the spinning skeletons mostly manage to avoid the spinning attack, but two of them are moderately wounded and one more lightly wounded.

The three goblins with the slings, seeing the skeleton has ducked, spread out a bit more to get new vantages.

The wounded goblin that got the arrow in the hip has managed to drag himself over to the sidewalk.

The two goblinsclimbing up the side of the building reach the roof simultaneously and pull themselves up. Which one will you shoot at?

[Destro_Yersul]

Either. Doesn't matter. One of them gets an arrow fired in the direction of his head. The skeleton drops the bow and unsheaths its sword, leaping to its feet. As the spinning skeleton has not been attacked during its spinning it stabs twice at one of the unwounded goblins.

[Renrik]

The goblin that had the arrow fired at his head catches it in the eye, and goes down.

The other goblin yells out Raktag! , and turns to the skeleton, charging forward with unbridled ferocity, leaping and swinging his morningstar with a powerful force towards the skeleton's skull.

The goblin slingers below see what is happening, and draw their morningstars, rushing towards the building and beginning to climb it from three seperate sides.

The unwounded goblin that the skeleton stabbed at manages to block one of the stabs, but is wounded in the leg by the other. He lunges forward and swings his morningstar in a downward sweer at the skeleton's ribs. The other four goblins attempt to grapple the skeleton.

The skeleton decides it doesn't like being surrounded. It backflips over the heads of the goblins, getting hit in the leg by the morningstar. It lands and the weakened bone snaps, sending it tumbling to one side. It uses this to its advantage to find a wall to support itself with. The other skeleton brings up its sword to block the morningstar just in time.

[Renrik]

The goblins fighting the skeleton with the snapped leg see their opportunity and charge forward, smashing at it with their morningstars.

The goblins trying to reach the roof begin to pull themselves over the edge.

The goblin fighting the skeleton on the roof lands, and charges again, but this time ducks down low and smashes at the skeleton's knees with his morningstar.

Snapped-leg skelly braces itself with its back to the wall and fends off the goblins as best it can, blocking morningstars with its free arm and swinging wildly with its sword.

The skeleton on the roof hops over the morningstar swing and stabs downwards at the goblin with its sword.

The goblins attacking the skeleton with the broken leg press their advantage, though one is severly wounded by the sword stabbing.

The goblin that swong low catches the sword in his shoulder. The other three goblins hoist themselves onto the roof and charge at the skeleton from seperate angles.

Snapped-leg skelly has his arm snap from repeated morningstar blows. It starts stabbing precisely rather than flailing wildly, trying to make every hit count.

The skelly on the roof pulls its sword out of the goblin, makes sure its dead and if it isn't, stabs it again. Then it runs away, leaping back across the alley to the roof on the other side.

The goblin stabbed by the skelly on the roof dies. the other three gobbos give chase, leaping across the alleyway to the roof where the skeleton is.

The five goblins hammering the skelly below continue, though one is killed by the stabbing.

Skelly below dies a horrible smashy death. Again. He continues stabbing right up until he collapses though, and might end up taking another one with him.

Roof skelly throws razor disks at the goblins chasing him and then readies his sword to defend himself.

The skelly that gets mashed manages to take out one of the goblins. The remaining three goblins consist of one lightly wounded goblin, one moderately woinded goblin, and a goblin with no wounds as of yet. The lightly wounded one and unwounded one help the moderately wounded one over to the goblin that was shot in the hip. The lightly wounded goblin begins to aply basic first-aid to the two more severly wounded goblins while the unwounded one stands guard.

Of the three goblins chasing the other skeleton, one is hit in the shin with a razor disk, and falls over when he reaches the roof. He gets up and limps forward with morningstar while the other move to run around to flank the skeleton on either side, and launch a co-ordinated attack with their morningstars.

Roof skelly dodges one morningstar and blocks the other. He stabs at one of the flanking goblins.

The goblin dodges and pushes forward while the other goblin crouches down, serving as a stumbling block for the skelly. The limping goblin gets nearer.

[Destro_Yersul]

The skelly falls backwards over the goblin behind him. It rolls backwards, moving with the fall to end up back on its feet. It throws razor disks at the goblin on the ground and the limping goblin.

Something black and wispy floats out of the remains of the other skeleton.

The goblin crouching down manages to roll aside, but the limping goblin, trying to didge, injures his leg firther and still gets scratched by the disk. The crouched goblin, having rolled aside, spring up from his crouched position with catlike agility and pushes into the skeleton, attempting to knock it off the roof. the other goblin assists in the effort by continuing the charge he already started by pushing the skeleton the first time.

The goblins on the ground notice the black whispy thing coming out of the skeleton, and the one without any woundsfaces it, morningstar held at the ready, while the goblin with light wounds runs to go get help.

The skeleton falls backwards off the roof, turning to land on its feet. It readies its sword and another bunch of razor disks for when the goblins come after it.

The black wispy thing floats towards the goblin with the morningstar.

The goblins on the roof. Don;t come after the skelly they just pushed off- They grab a big chunk of rubble and chuck it at the skelly, THEN the two unwounded ones jump down.

The gobbo with the morningstar stands his ground and grits his teeth.

Skelly sees it coming, mostly because he was looking up at the time. He dodges out of the way and flings some disks at the goblins once they've landed.

The black wispy thing continues towards the morningstar goblin. It reaches out with a tendril.

The morningstar goblin charges the thing, and tells the wounded goblins to flee.

The moderately wounded goblin helps the hobbling goblin to flee.

The goblin on the roof, with the severe leg injury, drags himself to the side of the roof and takes out a sling, preparing to loose a stone at the skelly.

Of the two goblins that landed, one takes a minor hit ont he arm from the razordisk. The two charge, attacking with savagery with their morningstars.

Seeing as there isn't much room in this particular alley the skeleton is able to block most of the attacks. It does get hit once though, caving in a section of its ribs. It counterattacks, stabbing with the sword.

Black wispy thing stops just short of the goblin it reached for. It tries to poke him with the tendril.

The goblin gets poked with the tendrol as he charges, swinging with his morningstar. His two wounded friends continue their slow retreat.

In the alley, they slightly wounded goblin gets a little more wounded from the sword stab to his leg. The two goblins continue to hmer away with the morningstars.

The skeleton jumps back, out of the goblins reach. It blocks another couple of morningstar blows and unsheathes a shorter sword from a second scabbard.

The morningstar goes right through black wispy thing without harming it in the slightest. The goblin feels something pulling at its life energy when the tendril pokes it.

[Renrik]

The goblins, having got the skeleton in a narrow alley, grin. One of them blows a whistle, and three goblins dressed beggars come in therough tother end of the alleyway. The two groups of goblins charge.

The goblin hit by the tendril cries out in pain and shock, and stumbles back. He stands his ground nonetheless, trying to buy time for his wounded comrades to escape.

[Destro_Yersul]

The skeleton, far from standing its ground, rushes forward. It leaps over the two goblins heads and takes off across the street, ducking into another alley.

The black wispy thing floats forward again, poking at the goblin a second time.

[Renrik]

The goblins in the alley give chase to the escaping skeleton.

The goblin cries out louder this time, and his wounded companions pick up the pace.

The door of the librarian's home and Kratos the elf walks out, watched by the librarian. He turns to look back at her, and she shrugs.

"Be safe, Kratos."

"Yeah, you too."

He walks away from the house, heading towards the town, as the librarian closes the door again.

The skeleton whips around a corner, dropping something onto the ground as it runs.

The black wispy thing rushes at the goblin, intent on removing what remains of its life force.

Stray lightning bolts begin raining from the sky (and suspiciously from the floor as well) striking buildings and the occasional person.

One child shouts "There's a huge storm at the beach! Run for cover!"

The clouds begin to part in small areas as hundreds of small meteors break through rocketing towards earth, striking into buildings and whatever else may be below them as they crash into the ground.

Several seconds later, a second wave of slightly larger, though fewer in number, meteors rain down from the sky.

[Nah, you can kill as many NPCs as you want; it only racks up more jail time. :smalltongue:]

The conflagration was impossible to miss. Percival and Gaheris flew straight into the teeth of the artificial storm, the great gryphon's mighty wings beating as it fought to remain aloft and on course.

The goblins chasing the skeleton grab the trinket he dropped, then dive for cover from the storm.

The goblin is killed by the wraith just as his friend returns around the corner with three more soldiers and a cleric of Inarri.

The goblins and their fellow slum-dwellers try to get into some cover from the storm. Some head inside buuildings while others go underground inot the Shadow Depths or the tunnels.

GSA wizards cast Detect Lightning on the storm, and the GSA remains on guard for attacks during this time.

The trinket is small and round. It happens to be a smoke bomb. The skeleton that was running away is now nowhere to be found.

Wraith thingy sinks into the ground, leaving only a bubbling puddle of pure blackness on the street.

A man with glowing red eyes hops through the streets of the slums, surveying the damage, tallying deaths and injuries as well as damages. He occasionally stops and magically heals the wounds of some NPCs before hopping off back towards town.

[Renrik]

The goblins regroup from the ifiltrations and the meteor showers, and go back to their guard positions.

The murals are being repaired and finished.

[Jonnadiah]

Babdhàn hops through the slums, scribbling notes furiously and doing the occasional patchwork on roofs, windows etc. He then makes his way towards the abandoned chruch on the hill.

[The_Librarian]

Two green wolves make their way through the slums and to the librarian's single storey home in a shomewhat charred neighbourhood. Kratos goes elfish to open the door, at which point, someone inside drops a large, iron kettle with a resounding CLANG! and curses.

Greeny snickers and follows Kratos into the house.

[Renegade Paladin]

Gaheris made his way to his safehouse, employed the usual wards and protections on the door, and set about working on his paperwork and records of his activities. He would soon go to sleep.

The man reaches the slums, and stops. he is heavy breathing and falls on the ground. He pushes himself back up when two big, thug like guys walk up to him.

[Argenteus]

Argenteus lands between the man and the thugs and draws his sabre. There's a nasty grin on his face.

[Cathrindir]

Cathrindir jogs after the man and comes to a halt, breathing heavily. "Alright, so where's the warehouse?" He looks up at the men and nods, raising an eyebrow. "Can I help you?"

[Gemini]

The two big men pull out longswords, and kick the swordsman in the face. Then they take out smoke bombs, readying themselves. "My name is feren, I can fight a little bit." Feren draws his sword, it then starts to glow a reddish color. Feren charges the two men and takes a knee to the stomach, he falls over, coughing.

[Argenteus]

Argenteus charges at the thug thats closer to him, and thrusts his sabre at the man's heart. A thick quasi liquid substance appears at the edge of the sabers blade.

[Gemini]

The sabre impales the man, blood squriting everywhere. "Hey, wow. You actually killed him! feren becomes shocked, and drops the sword. The remaining thug picks it up and runs with it.

[Cathrindir]

Cathrindir swears under his breath, tossing a Cone of Cold after the running man and pursuing him.

[Gemini]

The thug falls down and dops both swords. Feren runs up and picks them up. "Come on, this way." Feren runs down an alleyway, waiting for his protectors.

[Cathrindir]

Cathrindir runs after Feren, looking confused. "Who were they?"

[Argenteus]

Argenteus runs after Feren.

[Gemini]

"Well, there is a special amulet that I stole from a royal family. Some thugs beat me up and took the amulet into their warehouse and kept it. I want it back." feren walks up to a ware house and ducks under the window. He creeps around into the door and opens it. He then runs around the other side and a thug comes out, confused and angry. "Stay away from this warehouse you stupid kids!" The thug takes out a revolver and walks around the house, slowly.

[Argenteus]

Argenteus sneaks after the thug and slashes at him form behind.

[Cathrindir]

Cathrindir nods. "Why did you steal the amulet in the first pla-" He ducks down behind the wall of the building as the thug approaches, attacking him with his mace as he comes.

[Gemini]

The thug's torso severes, and he falls to the ground. Feren runs up and snatches the gun out of his hand. He looks up and a blue blast of energy hits him in the chest, he flys back a little. "Take that! You will not steal MY amulet." A man in red robes walks out of the warehouse, upon seeing Argenteus, he backs away and flies up on top of a building, sealing off the warehouse with a forcefield.

[Cathrindir]

Cathrindir quickly casts Heal on Feren, then casts Greater Dispel Magic on the warehouse and runs inside the door.

[Argenteus]

Argenteus flies up and attacks the man in robes.

[Gemini]

The warehouse seems normal, and a chest sits on a shelf. Feren runs behind the building where the mage was standing on top of, and hides. "Help! I can't beat him!" The mage takes out a gun and shoots at Argenteus.

[Cathrindir]

Cathrindir casts Haste on himself and runs up the stairs quickly, looking for an exit to the roof.

[Argenteus]

The bullet hits Argenteus in the shoulder, but his armor protects him. He curses silently and casts a lightning bolt at the mage.

[Gemini]

There are stairs leading to the roof, the hatch is open. The mage transforms into a bear and jumps down to the ground. Feren runs around the corner and shoots the bear in the head, killing it. "Good god. I thought he would never die. Heheh...now, my amulet."

[Argenteus]

Argenteus lands near the mage's body and grins a Feren. What now?

[Gemini]

"Well I will get my-" Five thugs run down near the warehouse, shooting at Feren. "AH! We're under attack again!" Feren runs into the warehouse, and drops his gun. The thugs advance on the warehouse with swords and guns.

[Cathrindir]

Cathrindir comes up onto the roof and leaps after the bear down to the ground, watching as it's killed by Feren. He drops down beside the bear to check its vital signs and make sure it's dead. "If you don't mind me asking, why did you steal the amulet in the first place?" Cathrindir throws a Cone of Cold at the incoming thugs and backs into the warehouse.

[Argenteus]

Argenteus casts a fireball at the thugs. He tries to dodge any bullets that are fired at him.

[Gemini]

"I had no money, so I had to sell it, then I came to get it back." The thugs keep advancing.

[Cathrindir]

"No...why did you steal the amulet from the Royal Family you mentioned?" Cathrindir throws another Cone of Cold at the thugs and charges them.

[Argenteus]

((I understand that my spell had no effect :smallbiggrin:)) Argenteus creates a wall of fire in front of the thugs in an attempt to slow them down.

[Gemini]

"Because I needed the money. I stole it and then sold it. The mage before was part of the royal family and I sold the amulet to the thugs." Two of the thugs get hit by the spells. One thug runs and slashes at Cathrindir. Two of the other thugs shoot at Argenteus.

[Cathrindir]

"Ah." Cathrindir quickly dodges a few of the blows, one glancing off his breastplate. He quickly swings at the thug with his mace and charges the others.

[Argenteus]

A bullet goes through Argenteus's right wing. He lest out a furious roar and charges at the thugs ignoring the shots. One more bullet hits him in the wing.

[Gemini]

The thug's face caves in, killing him. The last thug charges at Cathrindir, sword swinging.

[Argenteus]

Argenteus attacks the remaining enemy.

[Cathrindir]

Cathrindir ducks, the blade slashing along his right shoulder. He curses and grabs it to staunch the blood, then kicks out at the thug.

[Gemini]

((There were two, you each killed one.)) The last thug dies. feren walks out. "Hey, thanks! I knew coming to the heaven's Exiles was a good choice!" Feren pulls out a key from his shirt and opens up the chest and grabs the amulet. he walks over to Cathrindir and hands him 5000 gp. he then runs off into the slums. "Thank you guys very much!"

[Cathrindir]

Cathrindir's hand glows blue and he takes it away, the wound healed. He accepts the money and raises an eyebrow as the man runs off. "Um...you're welcome."

No problem Feren. Goodbye. Argenteus casts two cure light wounds on his wing. The bullet holes heal quickly. ((alright I've got to run anyway see ya, goodnight)). I must leave goodbye Cath. He casts teleport and vanishes.

Cathrindir vanishes in a flash of blue light.

Gaheris awoke and emerged from his safehouse. Time to go guard the night, as the name of his order put it. He moved off into the Slums, and would eventually make his way up into the Town.

Snow softly falls overnight, covering everything with a soft white blanket. All sounds are muted as the world turns into a white winter wonderland. The slums are an undisturbed wilderness of shapes underneath the white blanket waiting to be discovered.

WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY
Covered by the snow, the goblin beggars huddle together around small fires and share some food amongst themselves.

The goblins of the slum are drawn together by the celebration of Hogmenay, and a great tree in te center of the slums is set on fire to celebrate the occasion. Small gufts ae exchanged and even the GSA volunteers are able to let down their guard just long enough to have fun on this night. The night commences with the goblins going from house to house among their nieghborhoods, threatening eachother unless they get alchohal. Why? Because it's a goblin tradition, and they love it.



WHAT HAPPENS TODAY
The goblins have shoveled the snow out of their streets. Some of them are playing hockey on a small pond that used to be a tidal pool, but has since been dammed in. The goblin children are waging snowball wars with eachother in the streets, and the GSA are keeping their vigil. The murals have been fully completed, and are covered in Revolutionary symbols and slogans. The workers have gone back to their work, and all is peaceful for a time in the slums.

Earin appears in the slums and beings searching for the person who teleported there.

The teleport leads Earin to a very familiar house. The one Lillah was kidnapped to awhile ago.

Earin snarls and goes inside. Strange flickers of blue energy whirl around him, particularly around his arms.

Kyrian appears and sees Earin go inside. He follows, drawing Ebony and Renegade.

They enter the house and it looks like people have been living here for awhile, but have recently packed up and moved.

Shock, I'm so stupid. There's multiple caves.
