What happens if you enchant a two-sided weapon with Morphing?

Can you transform a double sword into a double bow?

I would imagine since both sides are treated separately then each would morph into a separate weapon. So ...yes you could have a double bow but you couldn't wield them both at the same time.

While the Underdark version can be applied to any weapon, the Magic Item Compendium version says "melee or thrown weapons only".

So it may depend which book's in use.

So then... if you only applied it to one side, would that leave you with a half-sword-half-bow?

I think the way it's worded, the other end of the double weapon melds into it and becomes inert. Conversely, if you make a normal two handed weapon morph into a double weapon, only one side is magic.
