If performing his duty meddles into the affairs of temple, then perhaps the temple should clearly post what is and is not considered religious related.

He was investigating under the privilages of his badge, and his course lead him to the temple. If the temple is dropping the charges, it can not hold the officer involved in the investigation of those charges responsible. The police will not operate under wishy washy rules of pressing charges.

Are we going to have a trial? I realise that the charges for theft have been dropped, but the other charges still stand (though the theft was to eliminate one of the clouds/draegoths thingy's that attacked the city) so it is again by the courts decision whether or not to dismiss the case.

I have issued warrants for arrest for Balthor for his killing of Ghost Humanoid in Trog's Tavern that I witnessed, and other arrests for Balthor, Torand for the hit placed upon me in Sneaks Milk Bar. Also for attacking these assailants while they were attacking me, Kin the Demoneater, Jacklu, and Withrey all made lethal attacks, and have been issued a warrant for their arrest. (Though since they were trying to stop an assault on an officer and defend themselves, I would take that into consideration.)

Why does the mafia have a vote? Not only does this group hold a vote when others don't, this vote is held entirely by a single, unelected person. Arbitrarily deciding what groups are significant is incerdibly undemocratic. Either we should allow every citizen a vote, or we could set up guidelines to classify groups based on predetermined criteria. Currently, two of the chosen groups are criminal organizations.

Basically, the voting is based around the biggest groups. If a mafiosi wanted to be a judge, they'd almost be guaranteed a seat as a judge under the system you are proposing, because the mafia have so many allies (the Troupe, everyone protected by the troupe). the current system works out that the judge basically has to have a clean criminal record (otherwise Supagoof wouldn't OK them), any fair dealing with the rest of the town (for all the others). Also the judge doesn't have a lot of power, only the ability to sentance criminals. Having everybody vote would make too much bother for such a small position.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents (thank the gods I'm not in Australia, Australia doesn't have any currency cheaper than 5 cents)

I just don't think the mafia should be allowed to have a say in who the lawmen are. That seems to defy logic. Naturally, someone who the mafia has a vendetta against (say, an officer who arrested a major member) won't be able to become a judge, due to the fact that they are too good at investigating crime. I suggest:
A vote from each of the largest groups (the ones that are currently in place, as well as a few more to spread the vote out). Each group will delegate its vote in a manner it chooses, either having each member vote, and the final vote is sent in through an electoral fasion; alternatively, the vote could be decided entirely by the leader. Now, if a candidate gains a majority of votes, he requires two more things.

1. Police approval
2. Approval by a majority of current judges

How about a simple majority vote from a large list of groups? The electoral college is a powerful system.

A single vote from the churches;
A single vote from a group of shopkeeps;
A single vote from a group of taverns;
Each of the five wards has their own vote;

That's eleven votes in total, enough to have a majority.

Then, the candidate will require approval from the chief of police and the judges. This gives the judicial system more power in deciding its own members than the four previous groups. The old system put too much power in non-governmental bodies, effectively creating an oligarchy.

In the Pop vs Kylee #1 Trial, the trial is dismissed due to the fact that Kyle has vanished.

The Kyle vs Capt Wukei is ended due to the fact that Kyle has vanished. I hereby find Kylee #2 guilty of perjury and I find Capt Wukei innocent of the charge of manslaughter. She is innocent due to the fact that I can find no solid facts stating that Kylee #2 informed Capt Wukei or Amiria about his allergy to metal.

I feel some fine points as an impartial outside viewer going back over the fight where all the god-modding took place need to be. Renrik did not god mod. [And don't accuse me of favoritism, since Renrik and I have had our disagreements in the past] Someone else did, and he acted in accordance to that. Looking at his posts, he made assumed actions, but the assumption never told another person besides him how to act.

I ask - how would you act, person A your fighting tells you one thing, person B tells you differently. If you go with Person A, your considered god modding against Person B, if you go with Person B you're considered god modding against Person A. Part of the issue with multiple person attacks, and why I'm also a big advocate for arena fights [or maybe just one on one fights, everyone here then has the same power of imagination].

Another item that will result of this. Many people in the town enjoyed the goblin hoard as a chance to show off their characters abilities. Others choose to ignore the goblins. Now, this case is being brought before the council [too large of parties involved to settle with the courts], of which Wukei, a poster who had ignored the uprising, is part of.

Would it be fair for her to continue to ignore it as part of the council?

Made tired by the long day of protesting, the goblins set up makehift shelters and light fires in enclosed rings. Howeverm, their mood is fearful, as rumors of violence against the protestors sweep the camp. They keep watch.

Floating in from down the street, Krursk pulls out a megaphone and adresses the goblins "Protestors, will you please move towards the town hall, where they have the nessesary jurisdiction to deal with your complaints. You are blocking the way for some people ((namely me)) to get to work"

A dark and lothsome looking creature walks into the courthouse, and seems disturbed by the feeling of the place. It shudders. The twelve foot tall creature waits paitently in line, and finaly gets up to the counter.

The clerk hands him a peice of paper, saying to fill it out in triplicate.

After two hours, the creature comes back, with the following...

I, Death by the Moonlight Dragon summarily requests charges be pressed against Mortia De Luna Draco, the mayor, in regards to the events in the temple of bahamutte. I request that he be charged with distruction of public property, assult against a towns folk, endagerment of the public, and conduct unbecoming of a person in public office. Here is the evidence...

Gwen walks into the courthouse with Des. She notices there is a new case. She quickly reads through it and puts it back for later.

Well Des, shall we look around? The storm seems to be centered around the courthouse.

Des brushes some snow off his fur coat.

"Where do we begin looking around?"

well, let's start with the empty courtrooms and the office areas. See if there is anything unusual, or that doesn't belong.

"Alright. Lead the way." Des says, taking Gwen's hand.

Gwen smiles at Des and starts looking through the empty courtrooms and offices

"What do you hope to find?"

Des says to Gwen.

*sigh* Anything that might be out of place, doesn't belong here, but I'm not finding anything so far. A couple more rooms to search. as she leads Des to the next room.

"This has to be supernatural. Just another problem in the town."

Des say, sighing.

Gwen looks up at him Well since we didn't find anything in the courthouse, lets go to the center and I'll sit down and concentrate on the storm and see if I can learn anything else.

"Alright." Des says pulling his coat up around his neck.

Are you getting cold? I won't take too long. Gwen leads him to the middle and she sits down on the floor, closes her eyes and concentrates

Des sits down beside Gwen and watches her, a smile playing across his face.

Gwen opens her eyes and stares into the distance for a moment before refocusing on Des. She lightly shivers before saying, Well the center seems to be right below the courthouse. The storm itself is natural but seems to have magical overtones that are hard to pin down, but if it continues this way the temperature will keep dropping to a bone chilling -60F within the week. I don't know what to do about it yet. *sigh* It has already started to affect the plants and animals in Town. I need to figure out how to get more information.

Des shakes his head.
