Preface: This is a theoretical optimization thread. The inspiration was the knight card of the Deck of Many Things.

Clarification question:
A fighter (lowercase) that hits thing with sticks and wears armor?
Or
A Fighter (uppercase) that has #class levels in Fighter?

If the latter case, then Zen Archery for the wins.

Uppercase. The Knight card generates a level 4 fighter of the same race as the PC.

Definately archery based then. The Small-size and Str penalty means weapons won't be as damaging (and it's only level 4 so weapon damage is still important). Give it Zen archery, and a Bow with a good variety of arrows, shoot arrows with useful effects on them, don't worry about the damage until later.

What's your alignment? Neutral? NG?

Master of Poisons/hidden talent+psi.minor creation => poisoned arrows + zen archery + rapidshot can be a good source of support.

Even so-so savd DC'd knock-out poisons (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=4854.0) (actually called non-evil by BoED, IIRC... I think the non-ability/HP damaging ones are all ok with a reasonable DM, but the knock-out ones are explicitly called out) will work with multiple attacks, especially with cost reducers/waivers.

Got 5 feats to work with, 4 feats if you can swing a thug instead, which would delay you for a bit in gaining rapid shot or master of poisons (if you can get access to poisons with PF wildshaping, you might be able to pre-poison a days' worth of arrows for him, obviating the bit about risking poisoning himself when applying the poison... or eat the risk). Thug would give more skillpoints to spend on Poison-making, SpotxListen and maybe Intimidate to allow him to have another tactic of imperious command intimidate for when melee gets to him. Y'know, if you keep him. Zhentarim Soldier Substitution levels are sadly out though. :smallfrown: And dungeoncrasher's not that tasty on a Small character.

Let's say, master of poisons, zen archery, point blank shot, precise shot, rapid shot, invest skill points in Craft: Poisonmaking...
