Pathfinder Half-Elf

I can't find this easily on a search so i'll ask can the half-elf take both favoured classes on the same classes and thus gain both benefits

(Extra HP and Extra Skillpoints)
or is the multitalented feature meaningless to the single classes half-elf

RAW says EITHER which to me indicates no you can't. if i was DMing i'd rule you can't as well.
i'd say your out of luck as a single class, sorry.
