My DM has thrown done the gauntlet. For a three session one shot campaign, our dm wants us to create over the top powerful characters. Now I've already built my character, but I've come to magic items.

The dm said we can create our own magic items using the item creation rules. As example, he used an amulet of true strike for what we can build. Unfortunately, I’m use to low magic item campaigns.

So forum goers, what crazy stuff can be built with these generous rules? My character is a melee dex based swordsage for reference. Gold cap is 16,500gp. Level 5.

Amulets of True Strike as the baseline? Uh... what about an Amulet of True Strike, Wraithstrike, and Hunter's Eye?

Sword of True Strike and Wraithstrike.

Cast both spells as free actions, then hit away.

...really? Then how about an amulet of Winged Cover? (Races of the Dragon) Swift action your way into never getting hit with an attack roll ever again.

By the way, if you couldn't tell, your DM is doing it wrong.

I got one better. This guy's dm allows his 8th level players have most buffs on at 24/7 duration. As a free action.

I should probably elaborate. There are no spellcasters and no use magic device. This is for a one shot, and it’s expected to get crazy.

Currently looking at items of true strike, surefoot, vigour lesser, divine sacrifice and heroics with 2 daily charges. Only from a quick puruse of item creation rules and spells.

Rebuild your character into an archer.

Get a use activated Hunter's Mercy and True Strike bow.

Critical every shot for the cost of 4,000 gp.

Hell, even if you aren't an archer, get that bow. Even for those few moments when you do shoot.

You're ignoring what few rules are in play.

That bow costs:

1.Bow cost: Trivial
2.True Strike Component: 1(spell level) * 1(caster level) * 2kgp * 4(measured in rounds) = 8kgp
3.Hunter's Mercy Component: 1(spell level) * 1(caster level) * 2kgp * 4(measured in rounds) * 1.5(Multiple abilities) = 12kgp

That bow would cost a little more than 20kgp, not 4kgp

Slotless command-word item of lesser vigor: 3600gp.

Fast healing on command? Priceless.
