As the title says, are there any good intelligence-based spontaneous casters? It seems that the main rule is charisma-based spellcasters are spontaneous casters, while wisdom and intelligence-based ones study or meditation to prepare spells, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Beguiler (PHB2) is a spontaneous casting class that runs off of INT. It is the only one I know of.

Beguiler is from PHB2. It's an Int based spontaneous caster based on Enchantment and Illusion; it can also qualify for Prestige Bard, from Unearthed Arcana, by itself if that's your thing.
EDIT: ah, ninja'd
Duskblades technicaslly a fullcaster, although they only get 6th level spells.

I was sort of hoping for a class with a more... diverse spell list, but oh well. Thanks guys. Perhaps I'll just make a variant sorcerer class with intelligence as the main spellcasting ability statistic.

Actually, the Generic Spellcaster is perfect. Thanks!

keep in mind that it's not really intended for use with non-generic classes, although I don't think anything goes horribly wrong if you do.

thats what i think would be the best bet
or a sorcerer who uses INT instead of CHA
i dont see how that could be more powerful than the sorcerer already is

There's also the assassin, though it's a half-caster.

Anyone mention Psions yet? Int-based and very spontaneous.

I think Trapsmith is Int-based spontaneous as well.

Where is trapsmith found? I'm just going to guess, RotD or another Kobold-based book?
