I've had this class mostly done for a few years, and finally finished and posted it as part of the friendly challenge offered me by The_Mage_King in this thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=176880). You may tender your "votes" as to your favorite class there.

This is basically a rebuild of the Witchborn Binder PrC from MoI turned into a base class. I originally designed it for a new campaign world I'm working on.

Mageborn Hunter

Adventures: Mageborn hunters devote their lives to reigning in the power of spellcasters. Perhaps they view casters as inherently evil beings. Perhaps they wish to protect themselves or others from those who would use such power unchecked.

Abilities: Constitution is the main stat for you. Your meldshaping and DC's are based on it, and more HP are always good. Dexterity will help shore up your poor Reflex save, and help your AC.

Role: Shutting down/hindering casters is your main role. Your meldshaping abilities help make you more able to deal with a variety of other challenges, and your 3/4 BAB means you're not completely pathetic in a fight.

Races: Any race can become a Mageborn Hunter.

Other Classes: As you might imagine, casters tend to look at you with distrust at a minimum. Many noncaster classes welcome your ability to help protect them from casters and magic-using monsters.

Special: may not possess (or gain) any arcane spellcasting abilities, or possess any spell-like abilities.

Alignment: Any

Class Features:

(note, all abilities that refer to “arcane” abilities also apply to divine abilities)

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: All simple and martial weapons, light armor and light shields.

Meldshaping: All Soulmelds drawn from the Mageborn Hunter list. DC for saves is 10 + essentia invested + Constitution modifier. Meldshaper level is equal to Mageborn Hunter level.

Chakra Binds: Follow the same rules as all other Incarnum classes.

Detect Magic (Sp): as per the spell, at will. At 6th level, this becomes Arcane Sight.

Meldshield: As listed on page 163 of MoI, except the bonus is equal to twice the amount of essentia. (a bonus to saves vs spells)

Favored Enemy: At 1st level, you gain a favored enemy: spellcasters (any creature capable of casting spells or using spell-like abilities). You gain a +2 bonus on all Bluff, Listen, Sense Motive, Spot, and Survival checks when using these skills against creatures of this type. In addition, you gain a +2 bonus to all weapon damage rolls against such creatures. At 5th level and every 5 levels thereafter, this bonus increases by 2.

Track: You gains Track as a bonus feat, even if they do not meet the prerequisites for it.

Bonus Feats: Any incarnum or mageslayer line feat.

Dispelling Orb (Su): at 2nd level, you gain this ability as listed on page 163 of MoI, except that the range is 30 feet + 15 feet per point of essentia invested. At 8th level, this acts as a Greater Dispel Magic, instead. (ranged dispel magic ability)

Mage Shackles (Su): Beginning at 7th level, you gain this ability as listed on page 163 of MoI. (shackles to bind a caster and chance to keep them from casting spells while bound)

Word of Abrogation (Sp): Beginning at 9th level, you gain this ability as listed on page 164 of MoI. (counterspell ability)

Dispelling Touch (Su): At 11th level, you may use your Dispelling Orb ability as part of a touch or melee weapon attack. You may use this ability up to once per round per point of essentia invested, if you have iterative attacks.

Spiritflay (Su): Beginning at 13th level, you gain this ability as listed on page 164 of MoI. (damage casters from a distance)

Spellburn (Sp): Beginning at 17th level, you gain the ability to deplete the magical power of a caster through your Dispelling Orb and Dispelling Touch abilities. You may choose one prepared spell, spell slot, or spell-like ability use to remove from the caster, based upon the amount of essentia invested in this ability (see table) per use of this ability. The target must make a successful Fortitude save (DC 10 + mageborn hunter level + your Con modifier +1 per point of essentia invested) or lose the chosen prepared spell, spell slot, or spell-like ability use.
{table=head] Spell Level | Essentia Invested

3-4 | 1
5-6 | 2
7-8 | 3
