Apps for roleplaying?

In that article, i've used Dicenomicon, SpellbookMaster, and tCiMP. Dicenomicon is really good. SpellbookMaster is great if you only have the iPhone app, but absolutely the best app you will ever use if you're a 3.5/pathfinder caster if you have the accompanying mac-only Pip (http://petteri.kamppuri.fidisk.fi/spellbookmaster/]app[/URL]. Seriously. Best app ever.

Also for iPhone, i'd highly recommend a dice-rolling app named [URL="http://mysterycoconut.com/). Like Dicenomicon, it's a physics-based dice-roller. I prefer it to Dicenomicon, but it doesn't have as many of the fancier automation features, if that's your thing. it also has average dice and fudge dice in addition to the standard compliment of d4 through d00, if you should happen to need that sort of thing. Has a friendlier interface too.

Also: just do a search for character sheet on the app store and look through what's there. i'm pretty sure you can find one that'll be less buggy and more friendly than tCiMP. I mean...it'll do the job, and if you forget your paper sheet at home, it can be a life saver, but it really could use some improvements before i'd really recommend it.

It's not RPG specific but the most useful app I've encountered for D&D (GMing especially) is Dropbox. The next most useful is Goodreader.

For 3.5, I found RPG Scribe (http://www.iappphone.com/apps/410385432/rpg-scribe/). It is a great tool for making characters. It is also connected to the D&Dwiki.

I'm looking for something that is a little more customizable. Is anyone aware of such an app?

sigh this kind of trend makes me wonder if any face to face roleplay (or dice) will be going on in 10-20 years.

People still like to see each other's faces. They read information from each other's faces that they cannot easily convey through text.

So if we go to digital, it will probably involve webcams and videoconferencing, not MMO-style gaming.

Dm'ing Face to face, our DM ran Dragon Age using his Droid phone entirely. Makes me a tad jealous, as I usually need a backpack full of stuff to run things.
