Stuff your characters know:
Relics:
There are 14 powerful relics in the world:
1. Shard of Power: a golden shard said to imbue great strength
2. Shard of Toughness: a golden shard said to toughen you to superhuman levels
3. Shard of Speed: a golden shard said to grant incredible strength
4. Gem of Fighting: a solid gold triangle made up of the Shards of Power, Toughness and Speed. It is said to grant the ability to defeat even the mightiest foes to it's wielders
5. Shard of Intelligence: a platinum shard said to enhance a beings natural intelligence
6. Shard of Wisdom: a platinum shard said to clear and sharpen the holder's mind
7. Shard of Charisma: a platinum shard said to make the wielder beautiful and charismatic
8. Gem of Magic: a platinum triangle made up of the Shards of Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma. It is said to grant a plethora of Arcane might to blast enemies away.
9. Shard of Law: a diamond shard said to give the wielder power over Law itself.
10. Shard of Knowledge: a diamond shard said to unlock the great mysteries of the ages
11: Shard of Chaos: a diamond shard said to free the shackles of the wielder's soul
12: Gem of the Gods: a diamond triangle made up of the Shards of Law, Knowledge and Chaos. It is said to harness Divine Force to crush foes brutally.
13: Triforce of Reality: a glowing relic made of platinum, gold and diamond running through it like veins. Not much is known about this relic.
14: The Altar of Ascension: a ruby altar with an emerald triangle the exact size of the hole in the middle of the Triforce. When the Triforce is placed upon it the Triforce shatters into Gems and the Gems shatter into Shards, these Shards are scattered throughout Hyrule. Anyone within the Altar room when this happens is infused with Divine energy and Ascends to godhood.

each relic not made up of combined relics have temples dedicated to them based on their power (Toughness has creatures with high HP/CON etc.).
Union Town: a small town created to seal the alliance between the races. While it is technically just one big town it has been split into 4 unofficial districts:

Magic District: The more magically inclined make their home here, the main industry from this district are magic items and weird experiments.

District of The Gods: If you ever want to see a Cleric go here. They have temples to all the gods (even Ganondorf) and are home to the more theological of the population.

Fight Town: If you want a fight go here. Here "Survival of the fittest" is most true. If you can't fight harder, run faster or hide better you won't last long in this place. It isn't that bad of a place but any sleights on someones honor can only be settled by a duel, severe sleights can be fights to the death.

Unity: A nice balance between the other 3, the code of honor is less harsh and more lenient, you don't get (many) magical explosions or weird animals and the number of Clerics arguing about Scripture or trying to convert people are way down.

Temple of Speed: Within walking distance from Union Town is a Temple dedicated to the Shard of Speed.

You all meet up in the Town Square, it is Ganondorf's Ascension Day, A day where worshipers of Ganondorf celebrate his Ascension and the kingdom has declared a public holiday. Every god has their own Ascension Day sometime in the year and the kingdom declares public holidays on every one.

You have the whole day with nothing to do. You have all heard rumors of strange things going on in the Temple of Speed.

Seemingly slightly less cranky and irritated than usual, Orren looks at the rest of the group as he walks to the Town Square. Despite he does not particularly revere Ganondorf as a god, seeing the King of Evil as someone the universe would be far better place without, the festive mood of the Ascension Day has somehow managed to infect even him.

The young Gerudo was dressed somewhat out of the ordinary, sporting bit finer suit than usual in colours of sand-brown and dark red, and carrying his scimitar and bow with him as usual.

"So, how has the day started for the rest of you? Up for the usual merrymaking? I personally think it has been too long since last Ascension Day" he says in somewhat cheery tone, his golden eyes gleaming in the sunlight.

Albel Caelin

It appeared that the mountain man was feeling less cheery then his young Gerudo friend. The reason for his foul mood would become apparent as all could see that Albel was without his sword. An earlier conflict with a guard had relieved him of his longsword. The small human had quoted some article of some law of Union Town, dealing with the Ascension Day. So Albel had to be escorted back to his home, where he locked his blade safely away. The guard had also attempted to force Albel to be without his shield, but failed in convincing the tower of a man that he should be parted with such a treasured family heirloom.

"Ascension Day... a terrible reason to deprive a town hero of his blade, even if for but a moment. The lot of them guards can't even stand to me, be it in combat or in contest of drink. But enough of all that... how are you, Orren on this day of blade stealing? And how is it that they allowed you to retain your blade? And the rest of you, had this day fared better for you than me?"

The young lad laughed, shaking his head slightly and looking somewhat amused. "It's quite simple. I just convinced them that my Scimitar should be considered part of my cultural heritage, and that it would be racist beyond belief to part me from it" he said, mischief gleaming slightly in his eyes. "Or they didn't want their helmet plumes "mysteriously" catching fire like the previous time... Not that I would know. Nevertheless, they let me keep it along as long as I cause no trouble" he said with slight grin.

"You should be thankful that they didn't relieve you of your fists as well, Albel" he continued in good-natured tone "as they bear uncanny resemblace to maces. Anyway, I see they didn't at least take your shield, and we all know you don't even need that barn door of a sword of yours if someone needs to be seriously injured".

Looking around, he pretended to yawn. "Though it is bit unlikely... Nothing ever happens here".

With his arms crossed over his chest, Albel would let out a gruff sigh and allow his eyes to roll at the comments toward his fighting prowess... or was it about how huge he was? Either way, he would let it blow over. Reaching into his shirt pocket, Albel would retrieve a large cigar and place it between his lips. It would look somewhat akin to a straight stick wrapped in leaves until one noticed the maker's seal wrapped around it. "Orren, I have a feeling they would sooner keep a ready bucket over your head than to deprive me of my fists. Either way, you are right my friend. These festivals are usually calm and aside from a few drunks not much else will happen." The giant of a man was able to keep the cigar in his mouth while speaking. Using one of his nails, he would cut the tip off before fishing through his pockets for a tindertwig. He didn't appear to be too upset that his search was fruitless, as he turned to his young friend and whispered. "Mind giving me a light?" A strong chuckle would rise from the mountain man, making Albel's whole body rumble with laughter for a few moments.

"If you insist" he replied and touched the end of Albel's cigar, the leaves starting to burn slowly the very instant his skin touched them. Withdrawing his hand, he grinned and made a show of putting out imaginary flames. "What I wouldn't do for a friend".

"At any rate, I hear that there is something going on in Temple of Speed... Maybe we should go and give it a look? That shouldn't take long and then we can get back into fesvities. Just warn me if the priest appears in the horizon: all his preaching puts me to sleep!" he chuckled, adjusting his shirt's collar slightly.

The drake growls softly, a hand resting on the pommel of his sword, while he looks to and fro rapidly. "They did not even approach me about my sword, they think I'm too scary to approach. That big mean Lizaflos will burn them where they stand. I still see people giving me second looks as I pass by, that they do not trust me. However I care not. If the Temple calls to us, we should do best to answer."

Rayon glided into the square with all his gear, careful not to land on anyone or accidentally swipe anyone with his razor-sharp foot talons. "Hey, look out below! Coming through." After giving plenty of warning and clearing out a space to land, Rayon took a steep dive down, spreading his wings at the last minute the way he was taught in training so that he slowed himself down just enough to allow him to switch between flying and walking as easily as breathing.

Taking some time to gather himself and check his gear after the landing, he jogged over to the meeting point where the rest were standing and chatting. "Hey, there you guys are! Sorry I'm a little late. Morning ritual..." He didn't finish the sentence but instead indicated his talons, which he had spent the first part of the morning filing and sharpening. "So what's the plan for today? Head over to the mage district to watch what some of them are doing for the celebration? Head through the District of the Gods and laugh at the priests trying to preach goodness while wearing black? Go to Fight town so you can laugh at me again?" Rayon asked the last question with a smile on his face, enjoying some of the memories he had of Fight town, even if he lost quite a few times.

"Nah, I think that the last time I had to drag you away from your feathers was enough. They did seem bit annoyed with me burning places during my matches... So maybe not there at the moment" he laughed in bit embarassed note, scratching his red hair. "As for the mage district, they seem to think me as some sort of anomaly: I wouldn't really want to go there again all that often. I feel like they would try to measure everything from my breathing to bat of an eye with magic if they got the chance"

Shivering theatrically, he grinned. "but District of the Gods sounds good... I have to engage in theological debate or two with those holy rollers there, and I was planning on visiting Temple of Speed anyway".

"Orren, none of those magic breathers could get near you. I think I remember you saying once that if you 'so much as suspected someone was testing you that you would blow them a new breathing hole'. I might be wrong though. After so many matches, words kinda get jumbled up in the noggin. Rayon knocked on his head a few times and laughed. "I think the district of the gods is a good choice though, I think several of the people in Fight town are still carrying bruises from Abel and Dak'uth. I don't think they are entirely ready for those two again. The temple of Speed also seems like a good idea. It's been a while since I've seen it.

"You still remember that?" he asked, a mixture of annoyance and embarassment in his face. "For the last time, I didn't mean to blow that tavern's windows to bits, nor tried to set the chairs on fire... I just kinda...slipped. The red-hot kick at that idiot's ass was completely planned, however"

As you near the District of The Gods you start seeing more temples and more Ganondorf-worshiping citizens. You see a pair of priests arguing about the semantics of a particular passage of Ganondorf's Book (his bible).

"No worries Orran, I had your back with that one. It always is a show when you plan on kicking someones ass. I'll have you remember that I was also there for the aftermath of clean up duty too! The look on his face was totally worth every second where we had to scrub the charred wood though. What was his name again?" Rayon cocked his head to the side, trying to think back that far. The look of the two priests arguing took his mind away from the current though and made him eager to hear their discussion.

"Ganondorf clearly means to crush his opponents ruthlessly in this passage 'you shall defeat all opponents to further your goals'."
"No no he obviously means to get them to work for you without knowing it, if you read on 'nothing is sweeter than the blood, sweat and tears of your enemies being used to further your own goals'. He wants us to manipulate our enemies into doing what we want."
No no you see...

Rayon chuckles at the priests' bickering. Such religiously devoted men are so argumentative considering they are on the same team. Sometimes I wonder if Ganondorf was really talking about the enemy within ourselves. If we can master our internal enemies to further our goals, I think we may yet reach an age of true ingenuity and providence without the racism of the modern day. All are equals when death and destruction come. Maybe that is what he truly meant to teach...

Taking a glance around the district, Rayon looked for anything interesting that was going on for the Ascension day besides the yammering of holy men. "So what all have I missed since I've been gone? We haven't really had much time to talk about it before. Feels like it's been 4 years or something" Rayon said with a grin, making his head seems slightly more angled than usual.

The priests bickering just serves to sicken him. "Farore would not have tolerated that. There are greater troubles in the world to focus on rather than arguing on what semantics she had said. We should be united for a common Good."

"Eh, let the men of faith have their debates. The gods are unlikely to care anyway, and if it amuses the participants, why should we deny them their amusement?" he asked with a slight smile. "And as to what I have done... nothing too special. There is little adventure to be found here, and I don't intend to leave for the Valley anytime soon. So just getting by, I guess... Though I have to admit that the wish to start travelling is getting harder to resist by the day. I just feel I am not cut out to be ordinary farmer, somehow..."

You think we may be destined for more? I admit, it would be a fine fantasy but I still enjoy my place in society. It Isn't so bad being normal when you think about what might have happened to us during wartime." . Rayon shook his head away from the thought of having to fight his friends.

Having hung toward the back of the group and taken time to enjoy his cigar, Albel seemed to take longer to get anywhere then the rest of his friends. He usually seemed faster than the average man, but he would rather take his time and avoid stepping on the common man rather than to start something accidently. Fight town was trouble enough, he didn't need to step on a priest’s robe as they moved through District of the Gods. Speaking up, Albel would say, "Could we just get to the temple? My cigar has been spent and all of this talk about certain gods is bothering me." The mountain man would take a few longer strides and soon would be several feet ahead of the rest of the group. As soon as he got ahead of his friends, he would growl deeply to part the crowd.

Turning to Rayon, the gerudo sighed slightly. "I don't know what to think, to be honest. I feel like I don't belong...anywhere now. Maybe there is something akin to destiny, maybe not... but I dearly do hope that I would know what is going to become of my life"

Rayon looked slightly concerned for Orran and began nodding unwittingly again. Glancing around the District of the Gods again, Rayon realized that this wasn't the best place to stay around for too long. The followers of Ganondorf hadn't done anything yet but if Albel continued for much longer, they may perceive us all as some sort of threat. Angry religious men were not in the master plan of a good day. "So I guess I agree with you, the Temple of Speed does sound like a fun idea. Come on, lets hurry. We can't spend all day here now can we?" Rayon said with a smile as he bound ahead of the party, waving for them to follow.

Upon reaching the square, he glanced around for his friends, scowling even deeper when they proved absent. "Damnit." The mountian man cared little for the mood of those he passed, as they were but strangers to him. Though he did chuckle at the nagging that Orren had voiced earlier. "I fear it will take more than a burning leaf to kill me my friend. I could have sworn we were heading in the right direction... I suppose I have no sense of where we are." Albel would take lead from anyone who seemed to know which way to head without question. While he knew the mountians and woods well enough, this town was a confusing place when there were so many crowding the streets for the festival. He would give Titus a playful but controlled slap to the back. "You have to be more careful Titus! If you go and get yourself all scarred and burnt... what woman will have you?" "Gods, quit thinking Fitz less your brain juices out onto the cobbles."

Running from his home, Albel would appear long behind the group. It didn't take long for him to catch up though. Once he did he was panting and smiling at the same time while holding his side with his spare hand. "Got my sword! ...uh... what's with the wildlife? Wolves are hardly that friendly, regardless of how recently they have fed."

Orren Refaia

"They are indeed acting rather oddly", Orren remarks as he looks at the animals they pass by on their way to the temple. "I believe that the cause of this lies in the temple... Something strange is definitely going on, and it would be too much of a coincidence that it would "just happen" to happen on Ascencion Day".

As you approach the pyramid-shaped temple you notice many animals had already arrived and were climbing up the stairs to the top. The big difference was instead of being focused on getting to the temple they were focused on being the ONLY animal on the temple. Wolves fought wolves from their own pack, prey attacked predators, carnivors attacked poisonous animals they didn't normally hunt. This only happened when on the stairs. Animals hit off the stairs would refocus on getting on the stairs completely ignoring animals they had attempted to kill seconds earlier.

Orren Refaia

Looking at all the fighting animals and seeing that more and more of them were trying to get to the top of the temple, Orren furrows his brows. They would make the entrance of him and his friends harder to accomplish, and whatever power has called them here is not guaranteed to prevent them from attacking him or his friends. Seeing little alternative, he merely opens his hand, producing open flame as large as that of a torch from it. Hopefully that will give the animals pause.

"Come on then guys, let's see what this whole ruckus is about" he says in still rather carefree tone, thrusting the flame in his palm closer to any animal that seems to be getting in his way.

DM:
Using Produce Flame, hoping it will drive the animals away from the party (as most common animals fear fire, after all)

OOC: Are you on the stairs or off them? I think you are on the stairs. If not please tell me

The closest animals go to attack you but seeing the flame seem to revert to their normal selves for a second. They pull back but the magic of the stairs makes them continue to attack each other. They occassionally go to attack you but the flame stops them.
When on the stairs every 6 rounds roll a DC20 Will save not to flinch. if you fail -2 to all checks except this one for 6 rounds.

Albel Caelin

Seeing the actions of the animals and that of his friend, Albel decides on his course of action. Drawing his blade in one hand, and keeping his shield readied in the other; Albel begins approaching the steps alongside Orren . "They are single minded... much as I would be if I were in a rage. Yet they are not upset." Albel lets out a mighty growl, seeing if he cannot help to give the animals pause or to make them part at the sight of him. If any animals pass within reach and threaten either him or his comrades, Albel will think nothing of smashing it with his shield.

Trying to intimidate the animals. I get a +4 bonus for each size category I am larger then them and I am effectively Huge size.

OOC: Yes, I think we are ascending the stairs.

Orren Refaia

"We best make sure that they keep well away, or we could be in trouble" the gerudo replies, thrusting the flame at any animal who seems like it is about to attack the party or himself. "And this magic... I think it is affecting us as well soon if we can't get past these steps as quickly as possible".

Then, focusing momentarily, the gerudo is surrounded by mantle of fire, his eyes glowing slightly and his hair turning more and more fire-like. Smiling at his companions, he shrughs his shoulders. "This should keep the remainder of the animals away".

Rolling the Will save against the magic of the stairs now.

[roll0]

Also, I do believe we can get the stairs climbed in 6 rounds easily enough, so second save propably isn't necessary.

Activating Cloak of Flame's Embrace as free action. Lasts 5 minutes, Orren gains +2 to reflex saves and all Dex-based checks, including initiative, and gains concealment that cannot, sadly, be used to hide. Produces light like a torch would, he does not provoke attacks of opportunity from movement or spellcasting, and gains another +2 to natural armour as long as it is in effect.

Casting free Light from minor emberheart for good measure... Who knows, the temple might be dark... After this lightshow it definitely won't be :smalltongue:

"Tch, how long do you suppose these stairs are? Maybe I could rush up ahead past the stairs. I could clear a small path for us to get through." Fitz squints from Orren's bright personality as he unsheathes his longsword. Shifting his weight to the balls of his feet and holding his sword in front of him Fitz is now in his Absolute Steel Stance. Steeling his mind to avoid any effects the stairs may cause, Fitz uses a counter maneuver called Moment of Perfect Mind.

Fitz itching to take on the sprinting challenge readies to run up the stair at the slightest hint of approval. Barring that, he shall still strike down any animal coming to close to his blade.

Swift Action: Going into Absolute Steel Stance - Grants me +10 Movement Speed and +2 AC if I move 10 or more feet in a turn.

Immediate Action: Moment of Perfect Mind - Let's me use Concentration for Will saves.

"This place just gives me the creeps. What do you think has all these animals so riled up in the first place? Rayon brandishes his metal shortspear, but the form of the shortspear slowly shifts to resemble a Longsword made of the same material. The blade doesn't fully shape but instead seems to be under constant self revision in form.

"We must be ready for anything, right?" He said, trying hard not to let the nervousness show beneath his smile.

Standard action: Reformed shortspear into longsword using morphing ability.

"Stay back, lest you become the first to taste my blade today." The tower of a man growls as he brandishes his sword to make his intent known to the beasts. As he presses further up the stairs, he gathers all of his will power in order to avoid falling prey to the same rage as these beasts.

OOC: I think you might have mistaken what I said. You aren't fighting the magic of the stairs. That only affects mindless creatures. You are saving against flinching. Wild animals are jumping out and attacking you only to pull back at the last second.

You are about halfway up the stairs when you notice a hole. It drops about 10 feet to a corridor. You can either drop into the corridor (DC15 Tumble check or 2D6 damage) or continue up to the top.

Orren Refaia

Paying little attention to the animals around him as he is content in the knowledge that the flames around his form will repel them, Orren looks down to the hole and raises his eyebrow. "Well, that is unusual... shall we go and have a look? About time something interesting happened!"

Without waiting for an answer, he leaps into the hole, the fiery mantle around him illuminating his surroundings. Cheerful laugh accompanies his small leap of faith.

Rolling Tumble check now.

Seeing his friends fall into the pit, Albel jumps down to join them. "I wouldn't have taken much pleasure in killing those beasts. And what is with this hole all of a sudden? Can't any of you stand on your own two feet?" Albel appears to think that they fell in on accident.

OOC: No, I realized what you were going on about. I was just describing that the situation was getting him dangerously close to raging.

Jumping Down to take less damaging from falling. Reduce the effective falling height by 10ft if I make a DC 15 jump check.
Jump [roll0] Oh look at that. I take 1d6 damage instead.

Rayon Kalmhart

Rayon flinched quite a few times as the animals came close and backed away. He was convinced that one of these times they weren't going to back off. When the group started jumping into the hole, Rayon was more than willing to follow along.

"Hey, wait up. Don't leave me out here!"

"Ah, yes, well I guess we shall go into the hole." Fitz hurriedly drops into the hole as the flame source that was keeping the animals repelled had dropped in two people previous. Bracing for landing Fitz tries not to break any bones.
