The Metropolis Travel Network

Deep under the packed and smelly streets of Metropolis itself lie the packed and smelly train networks, where chrome shuttles pulse their way across the entire city and its outlying city at the speed of plot. Anyone with an ID card can go on the train, assuming they pay a very small amount of money. Those without ID cards, or money, who try and enter the transport system, are arrested, or shot on sight. This place ain't big on potential terrorists.

Most of the train stations are practically identical, rows of steps, old and worn, remnants, perhaps, from the city's old self, lead down into huge, cavernous platforms, where the sound echoes, and the trains rush past every few minutes, announced by a booming masculine voice over a mechanical tannoy system. Flickering lights, that regularly break, grant a fluttering shine, as well as a sinking feeling, to each and every platform. A number of city residents have set up home in a "den", somewhere in the walls of one, or more, platforms.

The trains themselves are surprisingly well-kept, being newly-built, and all, with sliding doors of bullet-proof glass, and shells of shining titanium. Bright lights (with slightly too much UV) illuminate their insides, and hanging grips fall from the ceiling, along with smooth bars to hold, for when the comfy seats are filled up. The driver of each train is an NPC, unless a PC applies for a train-driver's job, and he'll typically respond with calmness and some degree of intelligence if something goes wrong on the train. Emergency buttons are in every carriage, in case something goes wrong, but they're occasionally damaged.

OOC Notes
You can access anywhere in the city from the train network, or its group of replacement buses, and you can get there as fast as you'd like. Please don't abuse these privileges, or they will be removed. Characters can apply for jobs as people working, in some fashion, in the network.
Please abide by all forum and Metropolis rules, and, when posting here, prefix your post with where you are, in the network.

[New Arrivals]

Sighing, John steps off of the train, and takes the first step of the rest of his lousy, miserable, imprisoned life. He wears a black, metal buttoned and vaguely military looking coat, a length of chain as a belt, and black pants covered in more chain, as well as a metal studded black leather belt as a kind of bandoleer. His hair is shaved off on one side in a punk manner, and a half ring of piercings line his skull on the hairless side of his head. Obviously, he's someone who tries to stand out. But of course, he doesn't, and no-one here will remember him as he heads off, scowling.
