Okay, so you sort of dropped the ball with the fake closing ish thing you were trying for, GoG, but this makes up for it! (http://www.gog.com/en/news/one_more_surprise_releasing_tyrian_2000_for_free/0)

If you've never played Tyrian, it's a top-down shooter with an egaging plot and highly customizeable ship design.

It's free, so go! Get it!

Uh, Tyrian 2000 was released as freeware years ago. :smallconfused: Although it's good to give the game some more publicity to those who have never played it.

Really? I'd tried to get it once, and it wasn't freeware yet. Well, the point is it's freeware now, and Tyrian 2000 is really awesome. :smalltongue:

I think I found out from Tyrian's artist who has a blog/webspace called Lost Garden (http://www.lostgarden.com/) (incidentally a good place for free-to-use art tiles for game prototypes!). I've got the original CD version lying around somewhere but at the time it was a timely reminder to play it again.

It's certainly worth playing! It was one of the gems of the shareware era.
