Hey, all.

I'm visiting a new town (Phoenix, AZ, if there's any locals that can help) wanting to introduce family to D&D, and I forgot to pack figs! I tried a few stores and none had any for sale. So, I'm wondering, what's the best way to find a good gaming store in a giant city that you guys know of? I've tried just "game store" near Phoenix, and I get 1,500 results, and obviously lots of video game stuff. The only proper FLGS I found had none, and also didn't know of any others in the city, but this city is massive, there's got to be one.

Also, if there happens to be a Phoenix local who's willing to lose some commons for a few bucks, lemme know :)

Obviously, if I fail, we'll be playing with coins/etc for characters, but I'd rather have their first game have the proper setting.

Thanks for your help!

Not to suggest that you're doomed, but FLGSes are getting rarer and rarer. You could always download something like gametable and use its virtual grid/pogs, if you'd like something that looks like what they're fighting.

Some game companies maintain lists of them on their websites. For example Steve Jackson Games (maker of GURPS and Munchkin among many other games) has one here. (http://www.sjgames.com/gamerfinder/) Wizards of the Coast (maker of D&D, of course) also has one on their page (http://www.wizards.com)(about half way down the right hand column called Store/Event Locator).

Here's (http://www.gamenightz.com/) one.

Here's (http://www.gamedaze.com/GameDaze-Store-Locations.aspx) another (top listing on the page).
