Aside from the Talented feat, are there any feats/class features that work along the same lines as Overchannel? I'm interested in things that are desperation moves, sacrificing health/ability to increase momentary power, or gaining power now for a penalty later.

The things that I have come up with are:
- Shock Trooper: trading AC for damage.
- Lady's Gambit: trading health for damage.
- Psychofeedback: trade mental ability scores for physical.
- Steely Resolve: not quite the amount of control I want, but t works.
- Berserker Strength variant: gain bonuses when health is low, no control over it.

This is a character that I've been building for a friend and I'm still not 100% sure it's exactly what he wants. Thank you for your help.

I can only assume you're familiar with this, (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/classes/wilder.htm) of course?

Word rage tangent:
Unless you're telling Overchannel how nice it looks today and how cool it is (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/compliment), you meant complement (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/complement) instead. I'd change that if I were you.

Hellfire Blast. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20061207a&page=3) Exchange one point of Con for 2d6/level/target extra damage.

Good catch, thank you.

You're probably aware of these (and they're not very good), but there's Body Fuel (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/psionicFeats.htm#bodyFuel) and Reckless Offense (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/psionicFeats.htm#recklessOffense).

Suffer the Flesh from Magic of Eberron increases caster level (and manifester level!) in exchange for constitution damage and an expensive material component. Great with Persist.

Reserves of Strength from the Dragonlance Campaign Setting increases caster level and breaks caps on spells, in exchange for stunning or damaging the caster. The possibilities with this one make it quite broken.

There's also transcend Mortality from Complete Mage. Makes you extremely hard to kill for 1 round/level but then it kills you when it expires.

I'm trying to break into the psionics scene. My original plan was to use War Mind because it had only a few powers to keep track of, but Wilder may work perfectly for my needs.

This is the type of thing I'm looking for, the problem is that I have to be a Warlock. Thank you, though.

Body Fuel seems bad, but Reckless Offense could be good. Since AC scales rather poorly, combining Reckless Offense with Power Attack + two-handed weapon results in paying 4 AC for 4 Damage. The only thing is that I assume this applies to touch AC as well, so that could hurt.

I like Suffer the Flesh, but it seems underpowered without something like Naberius. I could work with this.

Reserves of Strength and Greater Magic Weapon/Vestment. This makes me happy (at least until I have a DMG thrown at me), thank you.

Transcend Mortality appears to be as good as Final Fortune in MTG.
