say i have Swift Invisibility on a wand: Is it a swift or standard action? I have heard that, according to the rules compendium, it was made to be swift action if the spell in question was cast as a swift action, because swift actions didn't exist at the time of the SRD writing.

So whats the verdict?

A wand is a Spell Trigger item.

Activating a spell trigger item takes the same amount of time as the casting time of the spell that the item stores, but activating the item doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity

Since the Rules Compendium is the most current ruling that is what you're supposed to use.

Agreed. Standard action by SRD, but swift in Rules Compendium (which takes precedence, although as always some DMs may still not allow it).

Considering PF Artificers can craft Quickened Wands at later levels, I'd say you can keep it as a Swift Action.
