Howdy folks! I found a link a short while ago for the Pokemon RPG someone had made, I know a few of you guys play it here on the boards and wondered of you could again provide a link?

I want to read up on it and hopefully get a game going once im more familiar with it

well since this page exists why not see if there are any others? Maybe compare and see which one is the best.

This might be a fun time killer before or after my 3.5 sessions.

Pokemon tabletop adventures
That's the one that was made and play-tested by /tg/ if I recall correctly...
As I recall it does allow silly things like specialising in beating up pokemon with your bare-hands, as a consequence of having a martial-artist archetype.

That is awesome.
I shall now make a character that specializes in beating & skinning Pikachu's

There were a few other things of note...

Firstly, when you defeat a wild pokemon, it does not faint, it dies. You killed it. If your pokemon faints, you need to roll under twice its level on a d100 (caps at rolling under 90)

Secondly, whilst battling, there is nothing stopping you directing attacks against the opposing trainer.....

So I can beat MIsty senseless then kidnap her?

BESM had a sourcebook for "Cute & Fuzzy ****-Fighting Seizure Monsters".

Also, Pokethulhu by S. John Ross.

Pokémon don't automatically die in PTTA, they faint at 0 HP and can die at -100% HP.

And if you see it that way there is nothing stopping a trainer from sicking his Pokémon on a human in the various Pokémon media either.

And as far as I know there was an official Pokémon PnP for the first generation, but it was aimed at smaller kids.

Yeah it was actually a board game. You selected your pokemon & moved along a board. Battled wild pokemon it was fun

When did Pikachu take a level in badass? Definitely reading this.

Robot Arm Raticate, Here I Come!

Hmm, how do you figure the mechanics of the mons themselves? Is there some process you have to go through translating the statistics in an official game guide to d20?

I think these rules (http://dungeons.wikia.com/wiki/Pokemon_d20_(3.5e_Sourcebook)) are fairly good, though you'd need to homebrew the actual pokemon stats. Definitely worth a look, even as a summoning system for standard D&D.

Personally I like the dying pokemon and trainer fighting, I hate to say it but it adds 'realism'. To a setting full of cuddly things fighting each other but you know what I mean.

Exactly which is why I shall make a character who wears pelts made from pikachu & flareons to protect him from fire, cold, & electrcity!

Realism is fun in pokemon which is why I loved Collesium.

I have made a game to paper mechanic conversion with 3.5 and a lot of customisation etc, etc with the Pokemon Generation IV (4). I have beta tested it with a 3-Party Campaign.

It was good. But the only problem was that the game were boring for the other players and the whole battle was boring. I wanted to make a trainer vs trainer with the Pokemons too but the party was too bored to continue.

Having another look at the rules, you are indeed correct. It appears my memory of the rules is not as clear as I had believed.

It's mentioned in the rules, however it is also mentioned that doing so will result in your character being branded a criminal.

I'm sure it would be fun. I'll bring the 'Pepsi' & 'Red Bull'

Wait we should set a game up on these Forums!
Mainly because I'm across the drink.

As tempting as this is, I have been wanting to give GrimDark pokemon a go for a while, I am unfortunately in too many RP's. If I join any more my uni work is likely to suffer.

I wish you good luck finding a GM and some more players however.
