So, there I was, sitting at my computer, watching videos, when suddenly, YouTube just stopped working. Not "Error loading video", just black. I reinstalled Flash, but it didn't help (not that I thought it would). Does anyone know why this would be happening and how I can fix it?

Step 1 (Always): Restart your computer. Shut it down, power off, screen to black, etc. Full reboot.

If that doesn't work, try a different browser.

If that doens't work, hmm. I'd be stumped for the moment.

It worked on Firefox, so I guess that'll do for now, but I don't want to completely switch browsers (IE is more familiar to me), so I do still need a more permanent solution.

Actually, despite unfamiliarity, I would recommend keeping Firefox. It has some strange resistance to viruses.

has firefox updated recently? that sometimes causes issues. no idea how to fix it but it goes away on its own eventually.
