Does anyone know of any official / 3rd-party mechanics for replacing a body part with a magical construction, or adding limbs/wings/tail/... ?

i know of grafting feats, but AFAIK they're always associated with body parts from other creatures, so this is not what i'm after.

Regenerate (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/regenerate.htm)replaces limbs.

Thought I think you may be looking for the role-playing (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=30) area.

Edit: Besides that you may look into taking templates I don't know what you want if you want to graft new parts, but not from other sources.

Think of constructing a mechanical-magical hand (with magical powers) to replace the one that was severed by a vorpal sword, or a prosthetic eye with True Seeing.

homebrew some grafts. Some add but others replace organs - Mighty Arms from the Magic of Eberron if you'd pulled a Curley from Of Mice and Men and done got your hand stuck in the thresher

the Renegade Mastermaker replaces his hand with a battlefist which is upgradable...in fact, just look at the eberron books. With enough gold and XP you can basically create the Iron Man suit but as a part of your body. Wand slots in your arms and +Str, the Clouting effect from Complete Mage (or was it Arcane...I forget) you can re-enact the entire movie ;)

Grafts are exactly what you're looking for. Check Lords of Madness for a more extensive list

That's a good place to start.
Thanks.

The half-golem template from MM2 is based on giving a creature (a) prosthetic limb(s) who then takes on some of the qualities of the golem the limb comes from.

And if you don't want to take the LA, I'm currently working on a Half-Golem (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9939137#post9939137) revision that is more of a PrC and less of a template. So far I have all of the basic golem material types, and many of some more obscure ones. There is then a PrC for grafting multiple golem (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10058670&postcount=46) limbs to one creature.[/shameless self-plug]

Wait... So you are looking for a hand and an eye? I cant remember which book, but I'm fairly certain that there mustbe at least one that solves both of your needs :smallamused:

I think there was a separate story involving a head as well.

I believe that the Pale Master PrC also has grafting and one of the undead splat books (Liber Mortis?) has details on grafting undead bits.
