Warlock + Soulblade

Would a class that combines the class features of these two classes be unbalanced? What tier would it be?

Obviously there would be some reflavoring involved, but looking into doing something like that for an elemental themed base class for an upcoming campaign. It is also expected to replace the warlock, and be a non-psionic soulknife.

Suppose it is relevant that I intend for the soul knife and the eldritch blast to be dealing energy damage, not untyped or weapon damage.

I think it would still be tier 4, maybe tier 3 depending on how you make the abilities synergize.
