Unable to start a thread in the silly games forum

I'm unable to start a thread for a game in the silly games/structured games part of this forum. Do I need permission from a mod first?

I'm not a regular in Structured Games, but my understanding is that all new threads go via moderator review before being made into a thread that is visible to general posters- so your thread likely does exist, pending moderator scrutiny.

Yep. Best is you post your thread and send a PM to Alarra or Zeb with the question to permit it or to post in WW Central that you posted a game that needs mod-approval.

I actually just approved one of your two submissions moments ago. You should be set. I apologize if it was the wrong one, but they both looked the same and so I figured it might just be an instance of duplicate submission based on not being familiar with the approval process in Structured Games.
