View Full Version : Spell Research - How can you add more spells to your spell list?

I've recently discovered the "Spell Research" class ability of the Wyrm Wizard, which allows you to take any one spell from any spell list and put it on your own spell list.

Are there any other abilities / effects that allow this sort of thing (adding previously unknown spells to your spell list)? More importantly, are there any worth actually using?

Edit: D&D 3.5

Technically, Spell Research in the DMG allows you to research new spells, and those spells could be inspired by *cough* stolen from* *cough* other spell lists. Costs gold though.

Ah, sorry. D&D 3.5.

Following up on the stuff in the DMG, I found another, slightly more well-defined section on new spell research in Tome and Blood, around pg. 81.

There is also , not sure how this compares to Tome and Blood, additional Pathfinder rules on Spell Research. (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic#TOC-Research-and-Designing-Spells)
