View Full Version : Name my Feral Half Minotaur Melee Cleric!?

He needs a name.

Some background, he is CN and a total merc. He is an extensive planner but uses chaos (which he creates and is prepared for) to push his plans to fruition. He has almost no real morals but he does not commit any act good or evil without the right price. He was born a triplet and is in party with one of his brothers and seeks the death of the other. Overall he doesn't take any bull (get it?) from anyone and is an expert at living on the fringe of civilization where he can find work.

Kind of a tangent but I love red meat so does my character... so if he eats beef, is that cannibalism and more importantly could it shift my alignment... I mean I am rocking a +2 LA as is, I don't need to lose a level for a shift to CE on top of that.

I know someone who might have a beef with that. But I wouldn't steak anything on it. But lets get to the meat of the issue. All I ask is, please, don't have a cow, even though its a load of bull.

Here are a few names you can use, I think they are appropriate.

Slab Bulkhead, Bridge Largemeat, Punt Speedchunk, Butch Deadlift, Hold Bigflank, Splint Chesthair, Flint Ironstag, Bolt Vanderhuge, Thick McRunfast, Blast Hardcheese, Buff Drinklots, Crunch Slamchest, Fist Rockbone, Stump Beefnaught, Smash Lampjaw, Punch Rockgroin, Buck Plankchest, Stump Junkman, Dirk Hardpec, Rip Steakface, Slate Slabrock, Crud Bonemeal, Brick Hardmeat, Rip Slagcheek, Punch Sideiron, Gristle McThornbody, Slate Fistcrunch, Buff Hardback, Blast Thickneck, Crunch Buttsteak, Slab Squatthrust, Lump Beefbroth, Touch Rustrod, Beef Blastbody, Big McLargehuge, Smoke Manmuscle, Beat Punchmeat, Hack Blowfist, Roll Fizzlebeef .

But seriously, put a reference to meat, manliness, hair, and an action and you basically have the perfect name.

But as an aside, he'll do evil actions for the right price? He won't do Good actions without the right price? Better be careful there.

Another tangent I once gave a character exponential experience based on puns he used. For every consecutive pun I gave him NN experience, N = 1 + the number of consecutive puns. Needless to say he was not the wordsmith you are.

He will do good actions for the right price too, they just usually don't pay. Swindlers.

I had a toon like that once, named Fendarus (I don't typically go for the overly cheesy names). His current incarnation is a Tauren shaman... You're free to use the name. :)

As for the name itself, I'd go with Angus or Fat Axe.

It's too bad your character is male. Betsy would have made an awesome name for a minotaur cleric.

I'm gonna have to add my vote for Angus.

Or maybe Red... but you need to find a way to give yourself wings at some point. :smalltongue:

Cheesitine Minmaximus.

Kudos, I was trying to think of a good way to say it without being too harsh.

Back on topic, and I can't believe this hasn't come up for a cow cleric.

Moohamed.

I have figured out how I am going to decide. I am going to take the names I like the most and put them in a spanish, german, and russian translator and see which comes out the most bad ass sounding.

Cletus Face-lover?

In any case, he should have an inarticulate fear of rubber bands and a berserker hatred of clowns.

Tangent: I once created a tribe of crossdressing barbarians for a game I ran. Their ceremonial attire included "the pigtails of manliness", "war glitter" and "That slinky black number for turning heads."

Just on the Angus front, you could go for Oengus (the old Irish version of the name) or Onuist (The Pictish version).

I second third fourth whatever Angus.

All puns aside, you might want to look here (http://www.behindthename.com/random/). It came up with Ráđúlfr (http://www.behindthename.com/name/ra10th30u10lfr) as the first name. That sound good?

Perhaps Wagyu, Kobe or Sanda (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wagy%C5%AB)?

Or, more tangentially Mala Mogodu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mala_Mogodu), Zubron (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zubron), or even Darkcutter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darkcutter)?

@ OP: I suggest Bob. That's it. Just Bob. A friend rolled a char with two 18s and called the char Bob, this made the DM cry.

EDIT:

My, he is certainly . . .beefy. I bet he is no cow-ard.
