Looks like the death of an artifact or relic. Or the creation of one...

Luckily, Google News says no one's been gravely injured thus far.
But man, those are some beautiful photographs.

If you want to watch you should look here :smallsmile: (http://www.youtube.com/user/hitosi49#p/u). I am happy not to live in Miyazaki and Kagoshima Prefectures. One person was injured today when explosive eruption happened.

I won't lie. My first thought was, "Is Kasanip all right??" And now I feel relieved, though I hope no one else is injured by the eruption.

I hope the authorities are evacuating anyone who is anywhere near this monster. And I hope no one is stubborn enough to want to stay... and after that fireworks show I think I'd be packing.

Aaaah, I love volcanic lightning. So beautiful and awesome, in the old sense of the world.

Yup, that's an impressive eruption alright. I'm glad that Kasanip was well out of harm's way, but also that the eruption has caused so few casualties- from the youtube video linked, I could imagine that eruption causing significantly more casualties under other circumstances (especially since I think I saw some larger chunks of flying debris in there- though I could be wrong).
I'd be worried about Kasanip if only I could remember where she resides now ^^;;
since most countries are rather big you know?

That's always sad. I remember a sad story about a group of rescuer who got caught in a recent volcanic eruption in my country because they tried to evacuate an old guy who refused to leave.

Gah, there's always a few.
My thoughts are this. Don't argue with these people. If they absolutely refuse either handcuff/tranquilize them and load them in your car, or move along. Don't risk your life trying to convince an idiot they're wrong.
